Bono's lyrics still need help, but like the sound after 2 low-fi listens, just got the iTunes single...syncing to phone as we speak.

That is the album artwork with a = sign and a grey border?
that looks generic.
How To Dismantle had 5 good songs and it was not that bad.
City of Blinding Lights (Obama theme music) has to be one of their best songs ever.
I hope their new album is as good as Viva La Vida by Coldplay.

Bought it on iTunes... this is going to take a few listens for me to make a verdict... so far I'm kind of underwhelmed but I'm sure I'll grow to love it (I hope).

There must be a type-o somewhere, because on their site it says the single wouldn't be released for digital download until the 16th of February! I wonder if there will be a second song available then.
I've streamed it from their site a couple of times now and I really like it... but then again, I haven't disliked anything U2... well... ever really. I like how "rock" it sounds with the guitar parts, but then they mix it up a bit.
I can't wait for the rest of it!

Sexy, sexy boots!!!
I personally find the title “I'll Go Crazy if I Don't Go Crazy Tonight” to be one of their worst. That said, with MP3 players, I don't know the titles to half the songs I listen to. The description in the article has me hopeful.

Ugh. I hate the first single. I don't really like anything about it. I hope the rest of the album is not in that vein.

It's okay, but I'm not concerned. I think the last time I really liked a first single from a U2 album was "The Fly" from Achtung Baby, and that wasn't as good as "One." I don't know if it's by choice or what, but for a while they've been saving the better songs for later IMHO.

the new song is doing nothing for me, feels more like a b-side than anything. Seems weird they picked such a song that seems to go nowhere considering Beautiful Day and Vertigo were both fantastic leadoff singles that appealed to both serious and casual fans.

Or as good as the vast majority of tracks from 'Zooropa' or 'Pop'. I really tried to get into the single, but I just realized it wasn't meant to be.
It's quite sad when the lead single from the last Coldplay album (a band I don't care much for) is far stronger than the lead single from a U2 album. I REALLY hope this isn't a sign of things to come for the rest of the album.

Not really surprised at all the hate for the song.
I thought Vertigo was one of their better songs is the past 10yrs -- even better than any single song from Pop, Zooropa or ATYCLB. Get On Your Boots surpasses Vertigo, imo, and is the best single they've released since The Fly. And after listening to it about 20 times, I love it even more than the first time I listened to it.

OK, I found the single on YouTube. Don't know if it's the final mix, but I'll go ahead and comment on it anyway. Yes, it is better than Vertigo, but then again, I think Vertigo is one of the worst tracks U2 ever cut, on the worst album they ever released, so that's not saying much. On the other hand, I do love the chorus, especially with its Queen-like vocal layering. And Bono's voice sounds better than it has on the last two albums. But the verses are completely generic, and there's not much here to identify it as U2, and certainly not classic U2.

Hearing this song for the first time. Listened twice and I actually like it. Kind of sad to say I'm surprised I liked it.

Yep, not feeling the first single either. I went ahead and pre-purchased the entire album on iTunes, but yep - not feeling it. I'm not too worried. I hated (HATED) "The Fly" but ended up thinking Achtung Baby was the best U2 album ever.
We'll see...
FYI, "The Fly" ended up growning on me.

The music video for "Boots." Note it's not final (there are some "Getty Images" watermarks in there).

I liked the single, but love the video!

I usually hate their videos, but I quite like this one. Thanks for the link! And I have to say, the song has really grown on me; for some reason, I always need a few listens to process anything new that they release.
