new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009

LAMB OF GOD WRATH - February 24th, 2009 Worldwide Tour Planned

LAMB OF GOD will release their fifth studio album WRATH, on February 24th, 2009. The record will be released in North America by Epic and will be the first release with their new label Roadrunner outside of North America. WRATH is produced by Josh Wilbur and was recorded in studios in New York, Virginia, and New Hampshire.

LAMB OF GOD finished the touring cycle on the Grammy nominated album Sacrament at the end of 2007. The two-year trek was documented in the now certified Gold DVD Walk with Me in Hell and culminated with the band headlining arenas across the US last December.

The band has taken the entirety of 2008 off the road to focus on the writing process for WRATH.

“This album is going to surprise a lot of people,” comments drummer Chris Adler. “Typically bands that get to where we are in our career begin to slack off, smell the roses and regurgitate. We chose a different path. No one wants to hear another band member hyping a new record. WRATH needs no hype. We have topped ourselves and on February 24th you will feel it.
I'm glad they switched producers for this one. I thought sacrament was too over produced at times and hopefully this will be a more raw sound.

Very cool....I liked the last one, but I still think Ashes is the best work the band has done.

Also for a second, I swore J Mann from Mushroomhead was doing the vocals.

Song is pretty sweet from about 2:00 on. I'm looking forward to this one, as I've liked most of their output so far.

Wouldn't mind catching them on tour.

If I plan a vacation right, I might be able to swing the Denver or KC show.

I might catch them at the newly-reopened Palladium if I dig the new album enough. I loved Ashes but felt that Sacrament failed to live up to that record and was far too over-produced; it had no soul. Hopefully they'll get back on the right track with this record.

^from the samples posted (and what they've said thus far) this album is to be much rawer in production and they got another producer too. Ive really liked the new stuff, they even have started to incorporate blast beats too.

Shows are always fun, and I like Bodom a fair bit as well. I'll see them in Denver.

Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009

so who got the $25 best buy exclusive? website doesn't really say what it is, is the LP, the LP of the album? If so I guess I'm in, I was going to buy the LP anyway and I'm guessing the deluxe edition is the CD/DVD combo release...

I got it today. Its the LP of the album, a CD copy, a bonus CD (haven't had a chance to check it out), and a thumb drive with two bonus songs. Not bad really.

LOL! They purposely cut it out right before the vocals kicked in! Are they that bad? I saw them open for Slayer. Sounded cookie monster to me, but it could've been the bad sound in the arena.

This particular song sounds a lot like "Blackened" to me. Love the music. The vocals will probably ruin it. I'll give it a chance though.

Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009

I thought their last album was terrible, and while this one is a step up, it comes no where near as close to the first two albums.

It's a decent album. It's much better than Sacrament, but it's nowhere near Ashes of the Wake.

Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009

the bonus disc is a producers mix, where all the seperate tracks are in files, and you mix them together any way you want to. And thats always how his drum sounds.
Oh and I think prob Reclamation or Contractor are my fave songs.
