new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
LAMB OF GOD WRATH - February 24th, 2009 Worldwide Tour Planned LAMB OF GOD will release their fifth studio album WRATH, on February 24th, 2009. The record will be released in North America by Epic and will be the first release with their new label Roadrunner outside of North America. WRATH is produced by Josh Wilbur and was recorded in studios in New York, Virginia, and New Hampshire. LAMB OF GOD finished the touring cycle on the Grammy nominated album Sacrament at the end of 2007. The two-year trek was documented in the now certified Gold DVD Walk with Me in Hell and culminated with the band headlining arenas across the US last December. The band has taken the entirety of 2008 off the road to focus on the writing process for WRATH. “This album is going to surprise a lot of people,” comments drummer Chris Adler. “Typically bands that get to where we are in our career begin to slack off, smell the roses and regurgitate. We chose a different path. No one wants to hear another band member hyping a new record. WRATH needs no hype. We have topped ourselves and on February 24th you will feel it. ” |

the first studio track that has been made availible Also you can download it from here http://dev.roadrunnerrecords.co.uk/mp3/lambofgod/ this def has the rawness and heaviness that Sacrament was missing |
Very cool....I liked the last one, but I still think Ashes is the best work the band has done.
Also for a second, I swore J Mann from Mushroomhead was doing the vocals. |
Sounds good..Cant wait to see them tour again. Hope they come to Baltimore.
|
Song is pretty sweet from about 2:00 on. I'm looking forward to this one, as I've liked most of their output so far.
|
I will never understand the appeal of this type of vocals.

Wouldn't mind catching them on tour.
If I plan a vacation right, I might be able to swing the Denver or KC show. |
Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
I might catch them at the newly-reopened Palladium if I dig the new album enough. I loved Ashes but felt that Sacrament failed to live up to that record and was far too over-produced; it had no soul. Hopefully they'll get back on the right track with this record.

Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
^from the samples posted (and what they've said thus far) this album is to be much rawer in production and they got another producer too. Ive really liked the new stuff, they even have started to incorporate blast beats too.

Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
Shows are always fun, and I like Bodom a fair bit as well. I'll see them in Denver.
|
Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
I'm seeing them in Detroit. It's going to be insane.

Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
so who got the $25 best buy exclusive? website doesn't really say what it is, is the LP, the LP of the album? If so I guess I'm in, I was going to buy the LP anyway and I'm guessing the deluxe edition is the CD/DVD combo release...
|
Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
I got it today. Its the LP of the album, a CD copy, a bonus CD (haven't had a chance to check it out), and a thumb drive with two bonus songs. Not bad really.

Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
This particular song sounds a lot like "Blackened" to me. Love the music. The vocals will probably ruin it. I'll give it a chance though. |

Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
I thought their last album was terrible, and while this one is a step up, it comes no where near as close to the first two albums.
|
Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
Is it me or does this one sound way overcooked? The loudness wars continue....
|
Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
It's a decent album. It's much better than Sacrament, but it's nowhere near Ashes of the Wake.
|
Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
I can't seem to put the bonus disk on my itunes... i've only heard one song so far, is it me or am i hearing the st anger snare drum?
|
Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
the bonus disc is a producers mix, where all the seperate tracks are in files, and you mix them together any way you want to. And thats always how his drum sounds.
Oh and I think prob Reclamation or Contractor are my fave songs. |
Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
Picked it up and listened to it on the way to work. I have nothing to say at the moment, other than I don't hate it.

I may have to actually spend money on this! |

Are you serious?!?! Is it something anyone can do? Or do you need some sort of special software? Is the software on the disk? Is it fairly easy to do?

Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
WOW
LAMB OF GOD's new album, "Wrath", sold around 68,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 2 (behind TAYLOR SWIFT's "Fearless") on The Billboard 200 chart. LAMB OF GOD's last album, "Sacrament", sold around 63,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release back in August 2006 to land at No. 8. This represented almost double the amount of records sold by its predecessor, "Ashes of the Wake", which registered a first-week tally of 35,000 in September 2004. |

Never thought i'd see the day when a metal band probably most haven't really heard of debuting at no.2 on the top 200 Back to the album, as someone who's not a metal true-believer, I still think it's a pretty damned good release. The songs are more varied than your typical metal album and are fairly well constructed. It's definitely a release for fans of the genre and doesn't take too many chances, though. I could do without the Cookie Monster, but that's a topic for another day. One point: their drummer is tight as hell. The levels aren't completely bricked like Death Magnetic, but it's definitely "hot". |

Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
I have see these guys live (3 times) I am 38 and I don't understand why these guys still around?
They sound like 30 other bands with the same type and MO and on stage they just look lost and confused like the crowd that's enjoying them (am I just to old to get?). But side note Wow to them for reaching #2 ! |
Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
I've also seen them 3 times and am close to the same age (37) but I couldn't disagree more. I understand how some might have a problem with the vocals, but I think these guys are very good and they bring it live every time.
I think the new one is good as well. I like Ashes and Palaces more, but I would put Wrath right behind those. |

I do like the album, though. Not the best, not the worst, and it definitely gets me rocking. |
Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
The only time his vocals sound some what weird to me anyways is the higher pitched yell, during the choruses of 'set to fail' and 'in your words' otherwise, it sounds like randy on the other albums. It almost sounds like he/the band wants to try the clean singing that most metalcore bands do, but either randy refused and that was the compromise, or that he simply couldn't.
|
Re: new Lamb of God "Wrath" February 24, 2009
To be fair, I do like bands who progress in some way, shape or form. If the vocals are part of it this time, so be it.
