Maybe he knows he can't write rockers without Izzy, Duff and Slash around? I just wish they would have left Brian May's guitar work on Catcher in the Rye intact. The demo version is far better than the finished product that ended up making the album.

No need to do an in-store pick-up.
I picked up the CD today and it rang up at $1.99; I was going to try to price-match, but it wasn't necessary.

Guns N' Roses Plot First U.S. Tour in 5 Years
Veteran rockers Guns N' Roses are heading back on the road for their first major U.S. tour in 5 years, the band announced on Wednesday. The Axl Rose-fronted group will play more than 30 concerts, starting Oct. 28 at Orlando's Amway Center Arena, and then wind through markets small (Greenville, SC) and large (Chicago).
To warm up for the road trip (sponsored by Monster Energy), Guns will first headline the last day of the Rock in Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Oct. 2. They spent much of 2010 on a world tour that spanned South America, Canada and Europe.
Their sets at last year's Reading and Leeds festivals did not go over well, however. At both, the band showed up late and received choruses of boos from the crowd. Rose even declared "war" on Leeds organizers for cutting the band's set short.
Aside from Rose, the ever-fluid Guns N' Roses lineup includes keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman, guitarists DJ Ashba, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and Richard Fortus, longtime bassist Tommy Stinson, and Frank Ferrer on drums.
The band has not released an album since 2008's "Chinese Democracy," which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The Tour Will Visit the Following Cities:
Oct. 28: Orlando (Amway Center Arena)
Oct. 29: Miami (American Airlines Arena)
Oct. 31: Greenville, SC (Bi-Lo Center Arena)
Nov. 2: Atlanta (Phillips Arena)
Houston
Nov. 5: Dallas (Gexa Energy Pavillion)
Omaha, NE
Tulsa, OK
Nov. 12: Kansas City, MO (Sprint Center Arena)
Nov. 13: Minneapolis (Target Center Arena)
Chicago (All State Arena)
East Rutherford, NJ
Hartford, CT
Wilkes-Barre, PA
Worcester, MA
Camden, NJ

Though I loathe the man that is Axl Rose, he is still one of my favorite singers of all time. That said I finally attended two concerts of this incarnation of Guns N Roses last year, and I was blown away by how terrific Axl sounded.
Although essentially a cover band, they do their job extremely well.
I'm not the only one hoping for a reunion of the original GNR, however as Axl is insane* this does seem highly unlikely. So if you feel it's enough for you to hear Axl's voice, then by all means don't hesitate!
*= There are enough people in the business that claim it. Hard to deny it.

I just find it odd that they still qualify as a headlining act for such a large event. Yes, they were on top of the world at one point, and were absolutely amazing, but the crater they landed in was every bit as deep as the height of their success. They only have 1 original member and have released 1 lackluster album in the last two decades. Do people really want to hear what is essentially a cover band playing "Welcome to the Jungle" that badly?

Call me crazy but I still don't completely get the hate for this album, it wasn't classic Guns N' Roses but it was okay. I don't necessarily know that I'd go out of my way to see them in concert though. Ticketmaster notified me that they were coming to my area and I thought about it for a little bit, but then I saw that Jerry Seinfeld was doing stand-up there the weekend after and decided to go to that instead.

And playing the same damn tired setlist over and over again. And dressing up other guys as Ace and Peter. I love KISS to death, but they're another costumed tribute band at this point.

Yes, but the point was that they still have more than 1 original member in the band...Paul and Gene. Kiss used to be my favorite band, but they have definitely gotten tired and old.

If Axl died and a new frontman took his place with everyone else in the current band that would be a cover band (I would't argue that Dizzy Reed playing on UYI-era songs would disqualify them from cover band status) but again, we're talking about the frontman/primary songwriter. The case can be made that the current incarnation is a glorified Axl Rose solo project but a cover band it's not.

Re: GUNS N' ROSES: "Chinese Democracy" -11/23/08
I just realized that since the current incarnation of Axl's band probably plays at least one song from chinese democracy, they really aren't a cover band. But if they were called the Axl Rose Experience instead of GNR, they would be playing in 300 seat nightclubs instead of a Brazilian soccer stadium.
Axl: "Why keep the name? I'm literally the last man standing. Not bragging, not proud. It's been a fucking nightmare but I didn't leave GUNS and I didn't drive others out. With Slash, it's been nothing more than pure strategy and saving face while manipulating the public like he used to me. I earned the right to protect my efforts and to be able to take advantage of our contract I'd worked hard for where Slash's exact words were that he didn't care. I get that some like a different version or lineup the same way some like a specific team line up or a particular year of a specific car but because you and I are getting played I'm supposed to throw the baby out with the bath water?"
And the principal songwriters for Chinese Democracy have also left (Buckethead, Robin Finck and Brain). So they are still technically a cover band.
