re: the Kaiser Chiefs, there's a deluxe edition of the album with a second disc and a book - can't wait either, thanks for the reminder of the single, just ordered it from action records.
I've been so emerged into the Horror film challenge I really haven't been listening to much, started listening to the new Keane album - the bonus disc with all the songs in demo form, all I can say from listening to it briefly, uh, what happened? |
Been listening to:
Max Tundra - Parallax Error Beheads You http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...HL._SS500_.jpg Simon Bookish - Everything/Everything http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...xL._SS500_.jpg Metronomy - Nights Out http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...3L._SS500_.jpg |

She Likes it on Top - Lillian Axe
(won't bother getting into the whole album... as cheesy as this song is) |
Let's see,
Volbeat - Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood, a different type of metal record, I call it "rockabilly metal" The Gaslight Anthem - The '59 Sound, a good friend of mine (and music confidant) recommended this one to me. There are from my home state and make some kick ass music. AC/DC - Black Ice, got it from a friend in the radio biz, and it was certainly worth the 8 year wait. |

As for today's listening selection it has been . . . http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...tL._SS500_.jpg Love this F'n CD, so much better than the absurdly overhyped bands like Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand etc etc. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...rL._SS500_.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...FL._SS500_.jpg |

Look through these threads & the "rank em as you hear em" thread. I've been pluggin' this album since it came out, it's my #1 album from 2008, & I too, am from Jersey.
As for today's listening selection it has been . . . http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...tL._SS500_.jpg How is the Mark Lanegan/Isobel Campbell compared to the other disc? I have been itching to get that one, but wanted to read a review or two before I did. |
Friday: (more Thrash)
http://static.metal-archives.com/ima...2/4/1/3241.jpg Artillery - By Inheritance http://static.metal-archives.com/ima...4/9/204955.jpg Toxic Holocaust - An Overdose of Death... |

Phenomenal, actually better, very much along the same lines but it's got a bit more of a jazz-like quality to it, which is why I like it even more than their last.

Listened to this while mowing the lawn today:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA240_.jpg |
So far today it has been. . .
I cannot recommened this album enough, I make copies for people to get them into them. The album is like good comfort food, imagine Dylan & The Band making music in their basement. Check out "Tip Your Way" or "Frankie's Gun". http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...yL._SS500_.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...0L._SS400_.jpg The Blow - "Poor Aim: Love Songs" Fun electro-pop. Basically the duo is just a hot girl singing silly lyrics over someone's phat beats. Check out "Hey boy", ridiculously catchy. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...fL._SS500_.jpg |
Monday:
http://static.metal-archives.com/images/4/5/6/456.jpg Edge of Sanity - Purgatory Afterglow (awesome album) http://static.metal-archives.com/images/1/9/9/199.jpg Cryptopsy - None So Vile http://static.metal-archives.com/images/6/6/4/664.jpg Megadeth - So Far, So Good...So What! Little bit of everything today. |
|
Thumbs up on The Black Keys...although I prefer Rubber Factory that one is still awesome.
I just put in Sixty Watt Shaman - Reason to Live in today. That one is fucking awesome if you like Clutch, Kyuss and metal, it is the total package. |

Been listening to:
Empire Of The Sun - Walking On A Dream Latest effort from Luke (Sleepy Jackson) Steele and some other guy doesn't sound nearly as good as Luke's previous effort, but could be a grower. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_4NCzAnAJmm...sunwalking.jpg Clare & the Reasons - The Movie Obama, Obama, Obama. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...eL._SS500_.jpg Car Alarm - The Sea and Cake http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...5L._SS500_.jpg |

Helios, Caesura Library Tapes, A Summer Beneath the Trees Koen Holtcamp, Field Rituals Matthew Herbert, There's You and There's Me (not to take anything away from the brilliance of the rest of the album, but "The Yesness" is amazing.) David Sylvian, Secrets of the Beehive Begushkin, King's Curse |
