I would like to recommend to the other posters here the new Kingdom of Sorrow album. It is on par with their first one and it is for fans of Down & Hatebreed.

I've got a couple of their albums on vinyl. Might have to pick this one up, as well. Can't go wrong with Martin Axenrot on drums.

If you buy it make sure to get it from FYE. 2 extra tracks and a badass slipcover.

Good to know...I downloaded from Amazon, but I enjoyed it enough to buy it. Thanks!

Forgot to mention that it is on sale for 9.99 there too, as opposed to the 13.99 Best Buy wants for it...

Just a heads up, the documentary Until The Light Takes Us is playing on the Sundance Channel, tomorrow (July 2nd) at 7:45 am.

The doc itself is pretty shitty but it does have extensive interviews with Varg (when he was behind bars) and Fenriz so that alone was enough to at make it entertaining.

I have to remember to check that one out.

Legion (Ex-Marduk) is their new singer now.

This one hasn't grabbed me as much as the last couple have. That may be because I've been so steeped in those albums that anything new would take a while to get into. Legion's voice works surprisingly well, and the songs are a style of thrash that I can get behind. All in all, it's an album I'm glad to have purchased, slightly cheesy in places, balls-out rocking in all of the rest.

I read that Witchery opened for The Haunted on a US tour at one point. I'd love to see something like that happen again.

Vinterland's 1996 black metal classic has finally been re-released in a deluxe edition CD package, containing a bonus track, with an LP to be released likely next year.

I got my copy about two weeks ago (super fast shipping for coming from Spain). You can get it through Temple of Darkness, though they did say that it will become available through other distros before too long.

Oh yeah? Well you should talk to him and tell him to get on with The Northern Ontario Black Metal Preservation Society, or at least release a sample besides promotional photography, because having no idea what kind of band this is supposed to be is making a lot of people crazy. Anticipation just gets annoying when there's nothing to anticipate.

Or were you saying The Northern Ontario Black Metal Preservation Society needs to sample music and have more than those nutty BM pics they have out?

This is one thing I don't understand about today's bands: why even bother if no one can read the band's name/logo? That name is completely unreadable.

They've been broken up for over a decade.

Authorized free music, if you like the band.

VERY sad news. Nergal has always come across as a well-read, intelligent member of the black metal community. I would be sad to hear of his passing if things don't work out.

Very sad new about Nergal, even worse if it's totally untreatable. I absolutely love his work and the dude just seems totally bad ass. Behemoth is totally amazing to me and I love the song Man or Beast by Wolverine, which for those who haven't heard it hear ya go. Hope Nergal gets well.

I thought it had progressed beyond the use of chemo? Maybe this is just an attempt to extend his life even the slightest bit in hopes of finding a donor. I hear a drive is being set up in LA.

Finally heard some of the new Accept, with new singer Mark Tornillo.

Sounds pretty damn good.
