Kenny Wayne Sheppard- 10 Days Out

Anyone have this? I just noticed this release. It's also a cd/DVD.
I have his other cd's, is this along the same lines?

An excellent question...his last one sucked big time. If it does sound like his older material I am all for it.

I loved KWS's last CD - it was more rock oriented but it really grew on me fast. I would really like to see him do more blues oriented material, but so far he's a constant winner in my book.

As to the 10 days out, I haven't got the CD, but I saw the DVD - it was kind of interesting but was a little bit dull to me - I would hope the CD is a little more interesting.

Yeah, I agree. I hope those record producers aren't getting to him trying to get him to change his style for more money. I'd welcome a recording like his debut cd.

Wow, this thread is late to the game. The CD came out a year and a half ago. You can sample them all at cduniverse. I glanced on iTunes, it looks like they have it broken up into 4 or 5 volumes with some bonus cuts, so you can listen there as well.

It is a strictly blues CD. It doesn't have that rock-blues vibe that his first few albums had. I'm not a blues person, but it's a great CD.

Yeah, I understand it's been out awhile, but it's the first time that I've seen it.
I checked out a few cuts and I don't know if I like it or not.
The price will have to come way down for me to try it out.

Funny. I've been on a Kenny Wayne Shepherd kick lately, and I definitely prefer the blues-rock style to others.

Can anyone recommend other artists in that vein?

mndtrp, definitely check out Moon Dog Mane. It's a side project of one of the guys from Tesla, and very much in the vein of KWS. It's up there with KWS in my book. It's unfortunate though that it is a one-shot deal.

You Have to try out Gary Moore. He is the ex- gutair player from Thin Lizzy. After he left Lizzy he developed into a blues gutair band. He's got a bunch of heavy gutair based blues cd's out there that are awesome to listen to. If you want to try one, try Power of the Blues, Blues for Greeney, Back to the Blues or even Scars. Anyone of those four will do. Although Scars is the heaviest and sounds more rock based than the others. I'd recommend trying Power of the Blues of the four. If you have never heard any of these you have to try them out, they're incredible.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into them.
