I'm not a fan of Nickleback but I love that version of Saturday Night's Alright (for fighting).

If I told you that an English novelty band covered the first hit by one of rock's biggest legends, and simply by adding a driving synth hook, a musical interlude of "Chopsticks" and by changing a single lyric to reference a feminine hygine product, they would give that rock legend his ONLY #1 HIT EVER, would you even believe me? Well, that's my pick.

Haha. I still like Bruce's original version over the cover. It's listenable to though.

The Animals - House of the Rising Sun

The Ataris - Boys of Summer
I love Butch Walker's covers. I'd also add his Queen Medley and Since U Been Gone to that list you posted.

The Ataris version of Boys of Summer beats out the original by a mile now. The original's a good song but The Ataris made it better IMO.

Lou Barlow takes Ratt's hair-metal anthem "Round and Round" and turns it into a beautiful, haunting ballad:

I think it's time dude put out Cover Me Badd II or something to that effect. I'd love to have Crazy on disc, cleaned up and sounding good. If he'd play it all the way through, you could add Styx's Come Sail Away. Or Iron Maiden's Run To The Hills. (Or he could just put another medley on it.)

He is a pretty impressive covers artist, though, in addition to the wonderful songs he pens/sings on his own.

Oh and another cover I was amazed that I enjoyed and can't believe I forgot:
Perfect World - Just Like A Pill

(Then again, as much as I wasn't crazy about her, I dug Pink's original of the song too.)

Big fan of cover songs.

1. Less Than Jake: I Think I Love You (Partridge Family)
2. Stick Figure Suicide: Anything, Anything (Dramarama)
3. Anthrax: Next To You (The Police)
4. Atomic Bitchwax: Combination (Aerosmith)
5. Anitseen: Destroyer (The Kinks)
6. Celebrity Skin: S.O.S. (ABBA)
7. Dynamite Boy: I Want It That Way (Backstreet Boys?)
8. 1,000 Mona Lisas: You Outta Know (Alanis Morriset)
9. The Bradleys: Walking On Sunshine (Katrina & The Waves)
10. Goo Goo Dolls: Never Take The Place Of Your Man (Prince)
11. Die Toten Hosen: Hang On Sloopy
12. The Heretics: Mississippi Queen (Mountain)
13. Seaweed: Go Your Own Way (Fleetwood Mac)
14. Bastards: Come On And Dance (Motley Crue)
15. The Frustrators: My Best Friend's Girl (The Cars)
16. L7: Hangin' On The Telephone (Blondie; actually someone else...)
17. Supersuckers: Hey Ya (Outcast 3000)
18. Lunachicks: More Than A Feeling (Boston)
19. Throwdown: Baby Got Back (Sir Mix alot?)
20. Ladykillers: Won't Back Down (Tom Petty)
21. Mighty Mighty Bosstones: Sweet Emotion (Aerosmith)
22. Sinisters: Clampdown (The Clash)
23. Pennywise: Surfin' USA (Beach Boys)
24. The Vikings: Let's Go (Bay City Rollers)
25. Psychotic Youth: Cold Hard Cash (?)
26. Suicide Machines: It's The End Of The World (REM)
27. Everclear: Southern Girls (Cheap Trick)

The Goo Goo Dolls used to be famous for butchering songs by other bands. They do fantastic covers of "Never Take The Place Of Your Man", "Gimmie Shelter", "Sunshine Of Your Love", "Don't Fear The Reaper", "I Don't Want To Know" (Fleetwood Mac), "Bitch", "A Million Miles Away", "Nothing Can Change You" (Tommy Keene), Jenny 857-6309, and more...

Same goes for Soul Asylum. They used to do medleys that went from one cover to another in the course of 15 minutes ("James At 16" medley, & others)

good call on that skid row song...on the same CD they did an excellent version of Kiss' Cmon and Love Me.

Velvet Revolver did a great cover of Psycho Killer.

How do you post videos?

Yeah, I've been here a while and haven't had enough coffee

All I keep doing is posting the links, when I want the actualy video to be on screen and playable

If the video you want to post has an embed code, copy and paste that code into your post, and post it. Couldn't be simpler.

Infidel - thanks!!

I'll probably catch some shit for this, but I'm a pretty big Bon Jovi fan and they always deliver an outstanding concert with some pretty fine covers thrown in for good measure too
