Download The Entire Led Zeppelin Catalog For $9.99!

Credit goes to porieux for pointing this out in the expired Rhapsody give-away thread. I just didn't want anyone here to miss out on this deal since it's in a dead deal thread. You can download The Complete Led Zeppelin box set for $9.99. That's EVERYTHING. All the studio albums. PLUS the BBC sessions, How The West Was Won, the remastered The Song Remains The Same, even the remastered greatest hits collection Mothership from last winter. It's crazy. 165 freakin' tracks! One of the best deals I've ever seen. It probably won't be live for long...

And in case anyone missed it, the completionists out there can also get Robert Plant's Nine Lives box set which contains his 9 solo ablums for another 9.99. It almost feels like a rip off at "only" 110 tracks. ;)

I have had this boxset for 3-4 years. I remember it being around $150 I think. It is worth more than that. It is amazing!!!!!!!!! AND for 10 bucks its time for cheap xmas gifts for the Led Zepplin fans you know. :)

Decker 07-09-08 09:54 AM

Can't be exactly the same set, since this includes both the remastered Mothership collection from 2007 and remastered Song Remains The Same release that came out earlier this year.

This same set lists for $97 on Amazon. Obvious pricing mistake. Any chance of getting charged full price for this when they fix it? Being digital downloads it is not like you can really return it.

Drexl 07-09-08 10:30 PM

They may have pulled it. I opted to download as a zip file, and after about 300MB, Firefox gave me a message about not being able to read the source. Trying again, either within the browser or at the site doesn't work. I get a message at the site that says they're unable to retrieve my download.

Same problem. Can't even log into my newly created account.

What a rinky dink bullshit site. Not blaming OP - just saying this appears to be a headache in the making. I'm sure they charged my card. I probably won't even bother with their CS - I'll just issue a chargeback through my card bank.

Drexl 07-09-08 11:08 PM

They did charge my card. However, I think they may just be having problems. Perhaps they're overloaded due to this? I went back and they did give me a message about the purchase going through but the music not being downloaded. So, I checked the box for all tracks, but now it says they're unable to retrieve the downloads again.

Wait, it's working now. I think they were just swamped. I tried going to the download link for the zip file, and there was a message about the download limit being exceeded. Whatever you do, don't try to get it in one zip file. Install the Rhapsody Download Manager so it can download one track at a time.

They can't retroactively increase the price for you. I think it's expressly forbidden by law, but even if they do try, you can just dispute the charge with your credit card company. I mean, they email you a receipt with the $9.99 price on it.

With big purchases like box sets, it might be better to break your purchase into multiple zip files. To do this, after you purchase your boxed set, DO NOT click the download button. Instead, go your "My Downloads" page. You should see a list of all the tracks you just purchased with check boxes next to them. Tick off 10-15 tracks, hit download, then repeat for the next 10-15. This'll keep the zip files to a more manageable size, reducing the risk of interrupted or corrupted downloads. Thanks to anose at emusic for this tip.

With the LZ set, I downloaded it in chunks, with each zip holding one album from the set. This gave me 13 zips ranging from 80-290 MB, for a total of 1.8 GB.

Yeah, I'm doing that. After coming back, I noticed that I had only selected the first 50 tracks (which is all you can select in one page), so now I have to get the next few groups. Selecting all 50 should work, as it downloads one at a time.

kms_md 07-10-08 11:23 AM

 for the info - it is downloading now (about 450MB thus far).

Sure you can. If they try to charge you more e-mail them a copy of every file.

kms_md 07-10-08 02:14 PM

wow - quite the download. final size was ~1.9GB.

Yeah. I'm trying to decide if I should deselect all my previous Led Zep stuff from my ipod synch list. I've always had all my music copied over to the 80 GB ipod, but if you're talking about 1 GB of duplicate material, it probably isn't worth hogging up all that space (except it's nice to have original art work and seperate album info).

cungar 07-10-08 04:46 PM

It's gone now.

GHackmann 07-10-08 05:00 PM

Maybe not yet:
