With that out of the way, I can say that a large portion of my favorite bands are from the UK.

Yep, me too. What sucks is that with a lot of them - like Feeder, Ash and to an extent, (at least at one time) MUSE - they are far more successful in their native territories than they are here. Which means that many times their albums don't even get a U.S. release (or it's a much later one), so I'm stuck buying imports at a higher price.

There's four versions of Don't Panic (Denmark, France, Netherlands, the UK).

I do have a burned disc with most of the songs off of that version of the album, but I want the actual disc to go with my US version.
Oh yeah, that's another issue I have, too.

I tend to look at it as: I could spend $10-20 for a single, that *may* include a song or two I *might* like, or I can spend that money on an full CD.
I've been burned on singles before, buying some only to get lame remixes or b-sides that were better left forgotten. Very rarely do I find singles with B-sides that are as good as or better than album material.

Belle and Sebastian !??? Over Linkin Park? Not that I like LP, but give me a break.
At any rate, I hate Belle and Sebastian. And don't know a soul that listens to them.

There were a few surprises on there for me. One is that more Americans listen to the Beatles than in the UK. Another would be that people in the UK still listen to Blur.

I'm surprised Green Day is that high, on either list.
What I don't get is how it's not restricted to bands, since they have Beck, Bob Dylan, and Bjork on there, yet there's no Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Kanye West (or whoever is popular now on the charts), or any country singers. Did they try to restrict it to rock artists (and Eminem)? Or does Audioscrobbler just cater to that audience?
