Any 'Marillion' fans left?

Was going through my CD collection, and found a bunch of my old Marillion discs... shit, they really were good... especially the Fish era...

Loved them in high school. This is still one of my favorite songs.

Fish certainly does have a face for radio, eh? :)

Some other great songs...

I have about half a dozen of their albums. "Sugar Mice" is one of my fave Marillion songs, along with "Heart of Lothian" (high-powered second half), "Cover My Eyes", and "The Release".
I find their albums are just not consistent enough for me to want to explore their catalogue further. The mediocre Marbles is the most recent album of theirs I have.

I'm most definitely still a fan - pre-ordered their upcoming album awhile ago.

The Fish albums are great, but, let's face it, there are only four of them and a live album. They've done so much more as a band since Fish left and I love every minute of it. I was a bit disappointed by their last album, but I'm starting to feel the anticipation that accompanies the release of a new Marillion record.

My first two albums that I bought in the early '90s were _Season's End_ and _Fugazi_ - two very different albums. I didn't know anything about them at the time - just thought the coverart looked interesting. I quickly picked up everything I could find and have kept my eye out on them ever since. Probably my least favorite album is _Radiation_ which just seems so under-produced, I have a hard time really enjoying it.

Great stuff.

Clutching At Straws was the last thing I was interested in.

I stopped liking anything after the first two Hogarth albums. They moved their sound too far away from what I liked, and then it infuriated me when Fish proposed a co-tour where he and Hogarth would perform Misplaced Childhood together, but Marillion refused it.

Fish did a celebration for Misplaced Childhood, performing it in its entirety and called it "Childhood's End." The only problem was that the female backing singer he had detracted from the performance as her vocals were mis-timed and the songs were never written for a female background singer.

I think even without Fish that "Brave" is their masterpiece. It would be one of my deserted island cd's for sure.

I love the Fish era. Bought a few of the Hogarth albums and immediately sold them. His voice was so generic compared to Fish's, even though Fish basically sounded like Peter Gabriel.

Was into them when they sounded like early Genesis. Not so much when they didn't.

We need a Saga thread.

Huddled in the safety of a pseudo silk kimono wearing bracelets of smoke...naked of understanding...

Misplaced Childhood...what a great album.
