I'll buy it if she can explain what the title means :)
|
Just heard the first single and it sucks. Maybe it'll grow on me but right now, I don't get it...

I'm just impressed that the first poster was able to figure out how to make a superscript for the square. That is, "E=MC˛" and not "E=MC2".

Einstein would surely be proud. A dance pop album named after his most famous scientific accomplishment whose first single is called Touch My Body.

Mariah stopping by both studios on Wednesday to debut new video for "Touch My Body"! TRL on MTV (The show airs live at 3:30pm) 106 & Park on BET (The show airs live at 6:00pm) |
Uh, it's e, not E.
;) |
She was much better when she did mostly pop songs (Day Dream, music Box, etc.) I can't get into her R&B/Rap stuff.
|
Or when she was still with Tommy Mattola..
|
ladies and gentleman, prepare yourselves for 9 singles off this and have Mariah be all over the place just sucking the entertainment out of your TV and radio.
Gah she is terrible. -NiCK |
I can take or leave Mariah in general. She has had some really good singles, and some of the bottom of the barrel (Glitter soundtrack anyone?). New song is kind of catchy even tho the lyrics are juvenile for an almost-40 pop diva whose been cranking out hits since 1990.
|
She will be performing on SNL tomorrow. She's replacing Janet Jackson...
|
So Jim, lemme ask you this (and, mind you, I hopped off the Mariah train during Honey)..
Do you like Mariah because of her music/talent/voice? Or because of her looks? |

From Wikipedia
"The album name means "(E) Emancipation = (MC) Mariah Carey (˛) to the second power" The first single has a decent sound to it. Better than most of the pop stuff that hits the radio these days. |
New Mariah Album Like No Other
by Roger Friedman Mariah Carey, our modern day Janis Joplin without the drug addiction and lack of talent, returns to the music scene with her latest effort, the fantastically titled E=MC2. I've received an advanced copy and I can report that it is the greatest album ever recorded. You really have to wonder why anyone else bothers making music! Her fans will be happy to hear that this album follows the exact same formula as the last one and also every one before that. The cover even pays tribute to her past glory by looking the same. On "That Chick," Mariah sings about being the girl (i.e. "chick") that you want. On "Touch My Body," Mariah sings about how a guy should touch her body... but she'd better not see the video on Youtube! Right there Mariah makes a very clever reference to today's sort of teenage issues that set this album apart from the last one. And with Hannah Montana threatening to take away Mariah Carey's core fan base who have aged a bit since her last album, this is a brilliant way to speak directly to them and surely keep them coming back for more. There is nothing Mariah Carey knows better that the mentality of an eleven year old. On "Love Story," Mariah sings a ballad about how she had a love affair that was like a love story. Hence the title, Love Story. On "Bye Bye" Mariah coos her good-byes to a lover who has done her wrong. On "Thanxs for Nothin" Mariah thanks her lover for not doing anything. But on "I Wish You Well" Mariah cleverly turns the table and wishes her lover well. "Migrate" is upbeat and there is so much energy in the track that you can almost picture what it would be like if Mariah moved on stage. And, of course, random rappers and guest stars fill out voids all over the album, as usual. A real treat! All in all, another fantastic album from an artist who has pushed Elvis and The Beatles into virtual non-existance! |

And that is supposed to be praise? 'our modern day Janis Joplin' 'an artist who has pushed Elvis and The Beatles into virtual non-existance!' You're kidding me, right? |
god even Mimi is going a song with T-pain...fuck
|
She looks good but not a great looking album cover.
