I'm pretty sure that Kings of Leon are from Oklahoma.

I'd have to go with The Flaming Lips.

Being born and raised in Michigan i will go with..

"Overloaded" a great band from Detroit that is not getting the recognition that they deserve..Also like..

Ted Nugent
Alice Cooper
Bob Seger
Bitter Sweet Alley
Strut
Halloween
Mitch Ryder
Aretha Franklin
Anita Baker
Madonna

Also like to note IMO that Kid Rock is the worst thing that came out of Michigan.

I don't want to totally rely on wikipedia, but I would classify them as being from Tennessee: link

Isn't it Cory and the Fireflies, I am from Marshall MN, orginally hour away from SD. Went to Sioux Falls when we wanted to go to a mall. Cory came to our town all the time. Never heard of Zwarte though.

Because of this thread, I learned that the annoying little sister of the kid I was friends with when we were ten is now a folk and blues singer/songwriter with a half-dozen releases.

But it's not like there's a lot of artists to choose from.

There's a mighty limited selection to choose from, so I guess I'll have to go with The BoDeans.

Gotta go with either Gatsbys American Dream or The Blood Brothers (both of which are now defunct). Favorite band that's still active would have to be Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground.

Nirvana can eat my poo.

I love people posting bands without their location in their profile or with their post. Might as well name the thread: "Post any random band"

I'm from L.A. even though I don't live there now. My favorite band from L.A. is X.

Also gotta love that several people, instead of naming their favorite band (singular) from their state, name seemingly every band that came out of their state since its admission into the union.

My FA-VOR-ITE of these would be: Styx, for I, too, am from the state of Illinois.
