I Want An MP3 Alarm Clock !!! (7 Songs to Wake You Up)

Lets say you get one of these MP3 player alarm clocks for an xmas present. Of course its a crappy one that only holds 7 songs in its whopping 32 mb of memory.

What would be your 7 songs to wake up to ... in order.

Monday - Radiohead - Everything In Its Right Place
Tuesday - Godley & Creme - 5 O'clock in the Morning.
Wednesday - Pink Floyd - Time
Thursday - The Tubes - No Mercy
Friday - Easybeats - Friday On My Mind

The weekend
Saturday - John Cage - 4′33″
Sunday - Mike Oldfield - Ommadawn

If I only had 1 song, Radiohead - Everything In Its Right Place would be the way to start the day.

Loverboy's "Workin' For The Weekend" has to fit in there somewhere.

And if you ever need to wake up at four in the morning for something, there's always Night Ranger's "Four In The Morning".

Tom Petty - Wake Up Time (from Wildflowers)

You follow your feelings, you follow your dreams
You follow the leader into the trees
And what's in there waiting, neither one of us knows
You gotta keep one eye open the further you go
You never dreamed you'd go down on one knee, but now
Who could have seen, you'd be so hard to please somehow
You feel like a poor boy, a long way from home
You're just a poor boy, a long way from home

And it's wake up time
Time to open your eyes
And rise and shine

You spend your life dreaming, running 'round in a trance
You hang out forever and still miss the dance
And if you get lucky, you might find someone
To help you get over the pain that will come
Yeah, you were so cool back in high school, what happened
You were so sure not to have your spirits dampened
But you're just a poor boy alone in this world
You're just a poor boy alone in this world

And it's wake up time
Time to open your eyes
And rise and shine

Well, if he gets lucky, a boy finds a girl
To help him to shoulder the pain in this world
And if you follow your feelings
And you follow your dreams
You might find the forest there in the trees
Yeah, you'll be alright, it's just gonna take time, but now
Who could have seen you'd be so hard to please somehow
You're just a poor boy a long way from home
You're just a poor boy a long way from home

And it's wake up time
Time to open your eyes
And rise and shine

'Cause it's wake up time
It's time to open your eyes
And rise and shine

U2 Discotheque is currently my "wake up" song. (I just use the first song off a CD) I like it cause it slowly increases in volume...

I think a better question is why are you setting your alarm on the weekend?

Bohemian Rhapsody is a good one for people like me that need to be eased into the wakeup process. A nice gentle build but eventually rockin' out to force you awake if you're *really* being lazy.

I wake up to Primus "Mrs. Baileen" every day.

I'm a teacher so
"Mrs Baileen, she was a 6th grade teacher
and she used humiliation to contol the children."
always puts a smile on my face.

I have had Traffic "Low Spark for High Healed Boys" for a long time (years) I change the song every so often. The good part: it's a fairly soft and non-brutal awakening. The bad part: After years of hearing it first thing every day, I can not stand to listen to that CD anymore--it's fine for waking up too but that's it.

I use "Wiegenlied" by Johannes Brahms, but for some reason I always sleep right through it.

I listen to "Down Under" by Men At Work each morning. Think of the opening cords, they are really sharp and good at walking somebody up.

It's rare that I get more than twenty seconds into the song before I hit the snooze button or turn the volume down to listen to the rest while I get dressed. If you are listening to seven songs each morning to wake up, you need to pick songs that you don't like - something to motivate you to get up and turn it off. This is what I used to do, had my radio tuned to a country station. I couldn't stand it which forced me to get up to shut the damn music off.
