New Hair-Metal Christmas Album for 2007

Probably based on the success of the Christmas album from Twisted Sister last year, here's a brand new compilation just released:

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...HL._AA240_.jpg
http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Ballad...3016316&sr=8-1

1. Jingle Bells - Skid Row
2. Happy Christmas (War Is Over) - Winger
3. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Jani Lane
4. I'll Be Home For Christmas - Twisted Sister/Lita Ford
5. White Christmas - Queensryche
6. Run Rudolph Run - L.A. Guns
7. Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree - Firehouse
8. Naughty Naughty Christmas - Danger Danger
9. Blue Christmas - Tom Keifer
10. Jingle Bell Rock - Nelson
11. Silent Night - Faster Pussycat
12. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town - Dokken
13. Happy Holiday - Enuff Z'nuff
14. Winter Wonderland - Stryper
15. Christmas Love - Billy Idol

The Queensryche one is the biggest surprise to me. Not in sound, but that they'd do it at all.

This one's a couple years old:http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...8L._AA240_.jpg
http://www.amazon.com/We-Wish-You-Ha...3016296&sr=8-1

1. Warrant - Father Christmas
2. Danger Danger - Naughty Naughty Xmas
3. Enuff Z'Nuff - Happy Holiday
4. L.A. Guns - Run Run Rudolph
5. Bullet Boys - Everyday Should Be Like Christmas
6. Stevie Rachelle - Jingle Bell Rock
7. Every Mother's Nightmare - Won't Be Home For Xmas
8. Gilby Clarke - I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
9. Pretty Boy Floyd - Happy Family
10. Roxx Gang - Santa's Back In Town
11. Taime Downe - Silent Night

The soundclips from this one don't sound half as good as Monster Ballads X-mas, but this one has a cheap $7 MSRP

So.. what do you guys think? :)

I'm suprised Queensryche is on there as well.

I sampled that Dokken track ("Santa Claus is Coming to Town"), and - HOLY CRAP!! That sounds really cool!

Looks like I may have to buy the Monster Ballads X-Mas CD! Pretty good stuff.

I might have to get the Monster Ballads X-Mas CD also.
Always was a fan of Tom Keifer. Wish Cinderella would make another CD.

My local Target had the Monster Ballads one for 12.99

Actually, the Hairy Christmas CD has been out for a few years now.

The Monster Ballads X_Mas looks awesome tho... some of the same songs cross over on both CD's. the Danger Danger tune is awesome. Great band that always got overlooked.

 I stumbled onto the Monster Ballad: Xmas cd on Amazon last week and Queensryche had me scratching my head as well.

The ironic thing is that most those bands' members probably don't even have hair anymore.

Oops, my bad.

Finally got the Monster Ballads one--haven't had a chance to listen yet.

I'm confused, about the Monster Ballads CD... is this just a compilation of already existing songs or were some of the tracks new to this CD?

By far...

The Firehouse and Nelson tracks are the best of Monster Ballads.

It's a mix.

This review notes when a song has been released before

Unless mentioned there, I assume they're new since this album is a result of Twisted Sister's successful album last year

I bought the "Very Hairy Christmas" CD a few years ago. It's pretty decent.

My favorite on there is Danger Danger - "Naughty Naughty Xmas", which was in The Santa Clause 2, but not on the soundtrack.

I will definitely be picking up "Monster Ballads" in the very near future. I looked for it at Target yesterday, but they didn't have it.

On the lighter side, there's this:

http://cover6.cduniverse.com/MuzeAud...460/463070.jpg

1. All I Want - Styx
2. Christmas In Your Arms - Felix Cavaliere
3. I Believe In Santa Claus - REO Speedwagon
4. Everybody Loves Christmas - Eddie Money/Ronnie Spector
5. All I Want For Christmas - John Waite
6. I Believe In Father Christmas - Greg Lake
7. Christmas Is Here - Survivor
8. Santa's Lament - Joe Walsh/Joe Vitali/Father Guido Sarducci
9. Silent Night - Keith Emerson/The London Community Gospel Choir
10. 12 Days Of Christmas - Tommy Shaw/Jack Blades
11. Mary - Mark Farner (The Return From Calvary)

I love all the bands on that Monster Ballads disc, I just don't know if I would listen to it enough to buy it.

Bought "Monster Ballads" tonight. I'll throw it into rotation with the rest of my X-Mas CDs.
