Please help me remember an oldies song
Here's what I remember:
This is all from the chorus. A couple are getting married or something perhaps similar, although I am fairly certain it is a wedding. This is a happy pop song, or at least sounds like one. Whenever I am trying to remember this song, I always think of "Eleanor Rigby" and "Paperback Writer" so I think one of them might be a writer or there is a reference to something that sounds like writing or paperbacks in the song, and the girl's name may start with an E. I kinda think it's a Beatles song, but I could be totally wrong just cause of the two songs it reminds me of. I can't even remember the tune, sadly, but I remember the song exists...I hope someone knows or I don't know how I'll ever figure out what song it is. |

It doesn't meet all of your requirements -- mainly the wedding bit -- but it's poppy and part of the name of the song starts with an "E".

Sadly, it's not any of the songs suggested yet. I hope I have the right information in mind...all I know for sure is that when I try to remember it I think of Eleanor Rigby and Paperback Writer, so there must be something about the names of those songs that reminds me of this one.

No girl's name involved, but "Bus Stop" by The Hollies talks about a wedding.

I don't remember any of the words, although if I hear the right song I'll remember. It might not be about a wedding, like I said.
If it's not about a couple or a wedding it's about a girl. I still think it has something that sounds like "writer" in there and perhaps it is about a wedding. And again all I'm thinking of is the chorus. I don't remember the rest of the song. |
Just to try to get to the bottom of things, is there lots of harmonies? Is it just the lead singer?
I'm not sure why I didn't think of this earlier, since there's a song by one of my favorite bands, Bread (guilty pleasure, ever since my dad used to play their Anthology album when I was younger), that might fit the bill. I think it's just one singer. I think it might be one line about her and then one line about him and then a line or two about them being together. Maybe.
