A true Clay Aiken fan would know that they call themselves "Claymates".
Anyway, stop thinking of him in terms of somebody you would want to date or hang out with, think of him in terms of his being a performer. He's a very good singer and performer. No, I don't own any songs or records by him but I've seen him perform a couple late night shows, he is very good at what he does and I wish him the best of luck.
As for the videos, as mentioned above he is making fun of the song.
