Need Help Identifying a Song Please!

Ok.. I had this same problem before and someone hooked me up .. I have ZERO lyrics to go on.. All I know is that the chorus is from an older song so I don't know if it's a remake or what..

It's rap/r&b and is popular right now. I've searched the net for the past hour trying to find it on top 20 etc on my local station I heard it on but to no avail..

Any help (how I have no idea since I've given no lyrics) would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Could it be Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls"? It samples Ben E. King's "Stand By Me".

tbird2340 08-01-07 09:25 AM

No :(

But good song! Thanks for trying..

It's more up tempo.

Wow, this may be the most vague question ever. We need more details.

tbird2340 08-01-07 09:42 AM

LMAO.. I told you it was! I don't have any more. :(

There's a new (c)rap song that uses Supertramp's "Take A Look At My Girlfriend". I don't suppose that would be it.

EDIT: Found the video for the mess I referenced.

Any idea on how old the song is? 60's? 80's?

tbird2340 08-01-07 01:07 PM

Sorry infidel, no dice on that one either..

The original or the current song?

The song in question is definitely 06/07 (I think 07). The original I would have to guess 80's / 90's (not that this helps what soever).

If the original is 80's/90's, here's the only one that comes to mind.

I too woulda said Cupid's Chokehold by the Gym Class Heroes

Drexl 08-01-07 02:48 PM

Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" kind of fits this, although it's not rap/r&b.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvTAt20eedU">This?</a>

Dignam 08-01-07 04:58 PM

It could be any of these:

Gym Class Heroes "Clothes Off"
Rihanna "Don't Stop The Music"
Lloyd "You"
Bob Sinclar "Rock This Party" (featuring Fatman Scoop)
Smitty "Died In Your Arms Tonight"
Diddy "Last Night" (remix featuring Big Boi, Yung Joc, Rich Boy, The Game)

Is it a male or female singing/rapping?

Blech. The song is actually "Breakfast In America", but it is that lyric. Maybe you knew that, though.

Well, I'm not a big Supertramp follower, so I was just quoting what came up in searching. Knew that? No. Don't give a rat's ass, more like. ;)

This sounded like every customer I ever had when I worked at Best Buy. They would actually say, "Do you have that song that's real popular on the radio right now sung by that girl?"

paulringodaman 08-05-07 11:38 AM

geeze, can't the gym class heroes do a song without sampling?

movieguru 08-06-07 08:31 AM

There was a will Smith song out a year or so ago that used the lyrics and parts of the old song from the 70's in it. The song had something to do with his son.
