I assume you're going for individual artists, rather than bands that contain the songwriters within them.

Up until his retirement last year, I would have said Lewis Taylor, hands down. Now I'm not sure, though Colin MacIntyre would be up there for sure...

I was just gonna say i cant believe no one has mentioned Bob Dylan till i looked again at Norm de Plume's list.

His last album 'Modern Times' was one of my favorite albums of last year.

Glenn Danzig. I've been following his carer since I was 11 years old and I've always been a huge fan of his style and sound.
