Great live set from Boys Noize...Starts off with a cool mix of Justice - Phantom Pt I.

http://mixesdb.com/db/index.php/2007..._2007-09-30%29

I can't find a setlist, but here are two clips from YouTube. Not the best quality...but damn that lighting is pretty sweet.

Yeah, I identified it as that show because of that building with the diamond shaped rooftop bordered with lights. I think the did the most "tweaks" in Chicago than any other show on this tour. Wish I could have been there.

well now I'm curious to purchase this:

Boys Noize - Bugged Out

hope it's just as insane as the SMD disc

as for Justice - live... uh, I was underwhelmed, it didn't help that the 9:30 crowd acted like an insane bunch of twats. Bear in mind, I love the album but live, it all meshed into one monotonous (and repetitive) mess. Live, they sounded like the Chems and Daft Punk.

I'm surprised no one has directly mentioned the new Daft Punk "Alive 2007" CD as a means of hearing good Daft Punk again. They assembled a pretty awesome track-list. It sounds really energetic.

Though I noticed a few of you mention Live 19997. I still haven't heard that.

Digitalism is pretty awesome though. I agree to that. Though they only partially resemble Daft Punk's sound IMHO.

It is indeed amazing. It came out after this thread was created, which explains why it's not discussed here. There's a thread or two out there about it, though.

Alive 97 is a must hear, IMO. I have no idea why DP made it so hard to find.

in regards to Alive 97 - fans should also check out the concert footage from the D.A.F.T video compliation DVD: "Rollin' & Scratchin'" Live in LA (Dec '97)

I guess no one likes Kavinsky.

I picked up yesterday. It's pretty good so far. I ignored any hype for it for the longest time because I (mistakenly) thought it was a metal album (from the cover, band name, etc.) They got me good.

That DVNO vid is pretty kick ass.

It's not the exact same sound, but I've really been enjoying Calvin Harris lately. While not in the same genre exactly, I think fans of the music discussed in this thread might his pop-synth sound.

Listen to Boys Noize - Oi Oi Oi asap!

Love it. Very Justice like with hints of Digitalism as well.

I missed this post before, but just skimming the samples up on Amazon, this sounds like a winner. Funny enough, Oi Oi Oi has a remix album that comes out tomorrow.

I just received Boys Noize today, got the album and not the remix disc.

Between this thread and some recommendations on Amazon I don't feel quite so musically lost anymore.

A more rocking version of Daft Punk is Does It Offend You, Yeah? Pretty stupid name, but they're great. Their album is called You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into. High energy - http://www.myspace.com/doesitoffendyou

wow - granted the audience was smaller and over 21 (thank god) - the sold out Digitalism show at DC9 Monday night was amazing. Basically what could be described as DIY Techno: drumset, mixing board, computers - the performance was positively electric and pumpin'. Feeling the floor pulsate and threaten to buckle and break in half from the crowd jumping up and down was both scary and exhilerating.

There's no album yet. Only two EPs, both apparently on vinyl.

He's got six tracks on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/kavinsky

I might see him in NY on the 19th.
