It's funny you should say that. Whenever I listen to The Colour and The Shape I think back to the summer of 97. I have so many great memories associated with that album, which is one of the reasons it is easily my favorite album by Dave & Co.

He's stated repeatedly that he "would give his left nut" to drum for Zeppelin. It's basically a pipe-dream, but if it happens I'll be the first to buy tickets.

Zero. As much as Dave would love the opportunity, I think the FF gig is his primary interest.

Besides, isn't Zep committed to Jason Bonham?

he drummed for QOTSA during FF... why not some Zep too?

back into reality, however, they've not made any claims to commit to touring, let alone a drummer. but that's a different topic

Actually, QOTSA, Killing Joke, Cat Power, NIN, Garbage and Im sure theres more, thats just all that came to mind. Oh also played guitar on Tenacious D's albums

Having said that, I still doubt it would happen since Jason is there. Perhaps a one time thing where they would have a double set out there or something...

Just under 2 weeks away... Can't. Fucking. Wait. Dave and Co never disappoint me... hoping they hit TO very soon. Also an FYI, Foo Fighters will be the musical guest on SNL on OCTOBER 13.

I hate being right.

However, I still can't get over In Your Honor (been listening to that a lot lately). Though, i'm going to have to give this a proper amount of spins..

Album is available to be sampled. I can't wait to purchase it. Majority of the album sounds like "In Your Honor" outtakes, in terms of lyrics and music, but far more catchy. "The Pretender" is definitley the best standout though.

I don't think it is as catchy as In Your Honor.

I don't think it's as catchy, but I think it is BETTER. There are some songs on here that would have to rank on the 'best of foo' list IMO - Let it Die, The Pretender, Long Road to Ruin, SUMMER'S END - that one is easily my favourite so far. I think personally it's right up there for me and the Foo's should work with Gil Norton more often!! I LOVED IYH, but I felt it could have been 1 kickass 75 minute album instead of a double (ie. 14 solid tracks instead of 20) whereas this is like 10 solid tracks out of 12.

It will probably grow on you (i've listened to the record 15 times already...)

The opposite for me. It is a decent album, but nothing really sticks out as spectacular.

Statues and Stranger Things Have Happened are fast becoming favourites as well... I can't get enough of them right now.

great album. I loved every song except Statues (doesn't sound like foo at all).

If you're looking for a rock out album, you'll be disappointed, but if you're expecting great music, you'll be rewarded.

I think that was the two miners who were trapped in this metal cage together. One of their requests was also the "help wanted" section of the local newspaper - good sense of humor.

Anyway, I'd love for this to be a good album but I'm going to wait and see what "the buzz" is.

Sounds like a typical Foo Fighters album to me. Not enough rockin' songs on there, but what's there is great. Lots of filler slow songs.

I love "Pretender"
but I'm not holding my breath about the album being all rock..
I usually like about 2 songs from each album.
Thats why I went to Rhapsody.

I woke up this morning ready to download my iTunes pre-order, only to find that I couldn't do so yet! The album was available to buy, but it kept telling me that all my purchased music had been downloaded, and still listed the album in my pre-order section. Grrr! This was just before 6am PST. I was really looking forward to listening to this during work today. Oh well... I'll just have to wait until tonight when I get home.
