The Tanya Donelly Appreciation Thread
Despite the fact that I've been underwhelmed by her recent output, I decided that I would start a thread about her.
On her website (http://www.tanyadonelly.com/), they've started posting mp3's (http://www.tanyadonelly.com/mp3s.html) including some demos from her Belly years. Anybody else here a fan? -ringding- |
Pretty big fan here. I pick up pretty much all her stuff on CD. Was lucky enough to snag a Japan copy of her "Lovesongs" CD as it has a couple bonus cuts on it :) Haven;t been to the site in a while, will have to check out the mp3's...

I'm a big fan of Belly. Star is one of my favorite CDs ever. I've been following Tanya's solo stuff and enjoy it, but none of it has wowed me like Belly did. Though, I will say I loved her album from last year, This Hungry Life. Easily the best she's put out since going solo.
I'm an even bigger fan of her step-sister Kristin Hersh. Her some of her solo stuff is absolutely incredible, I've enjoyed 50 Ft Wave, and she's done pretty good for herself with Throwing Muses even after Tanya left. But, of course, their early stuff together from Throwing Muses is great, must-own stuff, too. |
I've liked most of her solo stuff and the Belly albums as well. Favorite song was "Night You Saved My Life"

Big fan and I always thought she was gorgeous - favorite song is Full Moon, Empty Heart, followed closely by the next song on Star White Belly.

My favorite Throwing Muses song is Donelly's "Not Too Soon". Never was a big Belly fan, but maybe I should go and check out their music again.
