A popular soundtrack that should never be out of print but is: Raiders of the Lost Ark by John Williams. It sells for $50 or more most places.

One of those I always meant to getting around to buy but never did until it was too late. It's not a soundtrack that you would expect them to quit printing. It was my first LP that I bought with my own money.

Jimmy Buffet - You Had to Be There ('78)

For some reason this is a very expensive CD, $32 new from Amazon. It's a double CD but still, it's way more expensive than it should be. I've had it since '93 or so.

Ed Haynes - Ed Haynes Sings Ed Haynes

This is a comedy / folk CD from '89 or so that is extremely rare. When it does pop up on ebay it sells for more than $30. I've had this one for about ten years.

I have a (nearly complete) collection of Babyface CDs from as far back as he started making records (Manchild, the Deele, and solo). This includes import CDs, greatest hit discs, remix albums, EPs, a 3" CD single, and promos from all over thew world (Germany, the UK, Australia, Japan, Canada, etc.). Sadly (for me), I don't think it's worth much, but I'll keep them all in hopes they're worth something some day.

I have been watching the auctions on these, I sure hope your right. I listed both of mine on the ebay today. Needing the cash for my west coast road trip. I hate to sell em' but honestly I only listen to my MP3's these days, they have just been collecting dust in my safety box.

THinking about unloading Salival from Tool, but not sure I can do that!

At my store we have a lot of OOP soundtracks, but I hesistate to buy them just cuz I really don't know much about them. Lots of the green cased RYKO discs though USED.

The prices paid for OOP Buckethead CDs are on the rise, and not even limited edition CD-Rs - these are CDs anyone could have picked up at Best Buy not that long ago:
Somewhere Over the Slaughterhouse - one went for $78.88!
Day of the Robot - going for $50-$60

I have the first Metal Massacre on vinyl with Metallica "Hit The Lights" with Dave Mustaine.
Wonder if that is worth anything, seems like it should be worth more than an easily-duplicated CD.....

many movie soundtracks are very rare. The Witches of Eastwick score by John Williams always goes for around $50-60

nin.com has been selling the Still disc off-and-on for $9.99 plus shipping. It's available for sale again right now, as it turns out.

Various Artists - Cultivation 92

A local Bakersfield, CA-based compilation of which not many were made to begin with. The highlight of that disc is that it features the only known recorded song ever by Sexart, the band Jonathan Davis was in before Korn. A copy went on eBay back in Feb of this year for almost $130.

I remeber when I got into industrail music in the late 90's. Nitzer Ebbs debut cd ( Which was of a singles collection from germany) "So bright, So Strong" was getting around 50-100 dollars on ebay. I found a copy at a cdwarehouse for 5 bucks, go figure.

I bought a copy of Sigur Ros' EP "Ny Batteri" before they got really popular.
It was $8 or so brand new on import, but I sold it a few years ago for $75.

I don't think it's worth nearly that much now, so I'm glad I unloaded it when I did.

We got a copy of the Megadeth disc with "these boots" on it today at work, so of course I snagged it

Lots of other goodies in stock right now, gold disc of Tom Petty's "full moon fever" is another that I'm considering.

You mean the original Combat CD?

They put it back on for the re-issued remaster, but the song is censored.

Technically not CD's, but...I was surprised to see how much some SACD's are going for on Amazon Marketplace. The Alison Krauss/Union Station discs start at $60, Keane's Hopes and Fears (with an excellent multichannel mix) is listed at $87.50, and I have read that the Bruce Cockburn and Beck releases can fetch over $100 each. I didn't realize I was sitting on a goldmine.

The Hellraiser Chronicles.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...XL._SS500_.jpg

It is a box set that contains the soundtracks to the first 3 Hellraiser films, remastered, and this was limited to 3,000 copies worldwide. I bought a copy off of ebay in early 07' for 30 bucks and now it commands up to 300 dollars! To bad I would never part with it

Also think I've still got the original vinyl...somewhere.
