Slayer and Marilyn Manson to do coheadline summer tour

SLAYER to Tour With MARILYN MANSON

SLAYER and MARILYN MANSON have announced that they will co-headline a North American major-market summer tour beginning on July 25 on the East Coast. Plans are for the tour to play some twenty-five cities and wrap up early September on the West Coast. A full, confirmed schedule will be announced shortly. MANSON and SLAYER will each play full sets, and two support bands, yet to be determined, will open all shows.

Just prior to the American trek, both MANSON and SLAYER will be on tour throughout Europe, sharing the stage at three European festivals — the U.K.'s Download Festival at Donington (June 9), Greenfield Festival in Switzerland (June 15), and Sweden's Metaltown Festival (June 30).

MARILYN MANSON just wrapped up work on his upcoming June release to be titled, "Eat Me, Drink Me", which Rolling Stone magazine describes as "epic." Voted "Best Band in the World" by Kerrang! magazine, the army of noise behind Manson's bitterness is at once raw and massive when witnessing him live— "rousing the crowd with focuses ardor," states the New York Times.

Celebrating their 26th year together, the always-uncompromising SLAYER was just named "Best Live Band" in SPIN's 2006 Readers Poll, and picked up their first Grammy Award last month for "Best Metal Performance." Their latest album, "Christ Illusion" — which debuted at #5 on Billboard's album chart — takes on the U.S. government about the war in Iraq, prompting one newspaper to speculate, "If Thomas Jefferson were alive today, he undoubtedly would be listening to SLAYER."

Will this be the next Unholy Alliance Tour?
Stay tuned!

This will be a fucking sick show, and i hope it comes to the md/dc area, since most of the big tours (ozzfest, sounds of the underground ect) aren't in this area, so hopefully this one will come here.

I don't like Slayer, but my girlfriend wants to see Marilyn Manson. I guess we'll go see it if it comes through here, and hopefully Slayer is headlining.

Last year's would have been cool:
In Flames
Children of Bodom
Lamb of God

I will definitely go if it's going to be in my area. I've seen Slayer quite a few times already and they are amazing live. Somehow I've never managed to see Manson live before though so that will be a bonus.

That'll be part of the fun, LOL. At least that's what I'll see, from my POV somewhere in the stands looking down at the general admission floor.

I will have to check it out. I had tickets to a Manson concert, but never got to actually go.

Anyone heard his new single? I've read that it's been leaked.

Yeah really. I, on the other hand, am a fan of both and would love to see this show.

I think this is a bad combination, with not much overlap.

I would be interested in seeing Slayer but Marilyn Manson is a talentless idiot.

come on, how predictable? I'd love to see Manson or Slayer tour with a Christian metal band and do a "Heaven And Hell" or "Good And Evil" tour

Predictable? I don't really see how, other than the pseudo-anti Christian acts. These two groups tend to take out similar opening acts to themselves, but very different from each other.

Fuck you, Fiddler's Green. I will not be attending this show.

predictable because it'd be much more funny and interesting seeing someone like Manson going on tour with P.O.D. or some sort of rock group that is all about Christian values that completely oppose what Manson is all about, as opposed to choosing someone like Slayer.

Actually, forget Manson/P.O.D., how about a Slayer and Stryper double-headliner?

I hate goths, and I think the same of Satanists as I do of Christians, but I like enough songs between the two bands to actually go to this show. I hope Manson plays a lot of Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals songs, and I hope Slayer players more old stuff than that crappy new album

Acording to the merriweather website, Bleeding Through is the opening act (and they have manson headlining) Bleeding through is mainly a metalcore band with keyboards (and a smoking hot keyboard player too, and she's the only one that can headbang)

I'll be seeing this. I've seen Slayer at least 7 or 8 times, Manson about 5 or 6. It's coming to the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre, which nothing good ever comes to, so I'm stoked to be able to see this 15 min from my house.

As an ex Slayer fan (just cause I am tired of a lot of heavy metal) I would pay just to see these 2 crowds get together.

No, the ass-raping comes at the concert itself.
