I like it. A poster above commented on it being more mellow and I agree. It is more mellow, but still quite heavy (in sound and lyrical content).

So far Armor and Sword, Faithless and We Hold On are standouts for me. There is a very cohesive feel to the CD as a whole.

On another note..for some reason I thought the songrwriting credits were funny...

All Songs composed by Lee and Lifeson, with lyrics by Peart, except "Hope", composed and performed by Lerxst Lifeson...all by his own self.

so far i like it, definitelty a different feel to it. My brother said he thought it sounded much more like Presto or Roll the Bones than Counterparts, Test for Echo, or Vapor Trails.
I was shocked (in a good way) that it was acually sold out at my local Circuit City where it was on sale for 9.99. Had to pick it up at Best Buy instead.

What's funny is that, in preperation for the new album, I've been listening to more Rush lately than normal (which is a TON since they've been my favorite bad for roughly the past 16 years!) and I've really grown to love "One Little Victory" off of Vapor Trails while 5 years ago I wasn't a big fan of it. Other than the awful recording quality, I really don't have anything against that song. I might even put it up there with "Carve Away the Stone" and "Available Light" as one of my favorite underrated Rush songs.

Definitely can't wait for the concert! 3 years since the last time and it's been a long time coming!

"Available Light" is an amazing song.

Another thing I like abouthe new cd, I find myself humming along to every cut. It's like all of a sudden I realize I'm humming along without doing it on my own. I think that's pretty cool.

I agree. It's heavy but the slow to moderate tempos makes it seems like it's more of a mellow sound. The lyrics are also quite deep.

Setlist:

Spoiler:
Limelight
Digital Man
Entre Nous
Mission
Freewill
The Main Monkey Business
The Larger Bowl
Secret Touch
Circumstances
Between The Wheels
Dreamline
(-Intermission-/video intro)
Far Cry
Workin’ Them Angels
Armor And Sword
Spindrift
The Way The Wind Blows
Subdivisions
Natural Science
Witch Hunt
Malignant Narcissism
Drum Solo
Hope
Summertime Blues
The Spirit of Radio
Tom Sawyer (with South Park intro)
Encore:
One Little Victory
A Passage to Bangkok
YYZ

Other things of note:

Spoiler:
The dryers have reportedly been replaced by rotisserie chicken roasters
The opening video begins with a dream sequence with the Alex and Neil. Alex wakes up and taps someone sleeping beside him. Neil rolls over, and they both look at each other and yell 'AHHHHHHHHHHH"...it then cuts to Geddy who is sitting in a chair approached by a guy in costume(?) with an accent telling Geddy he doesn't care how he is feeling, that the show must go on etc, etc...and threatens him with humorous threats IF he doesn't get up and go do the show to which they all ran out.

The video intro for the second set is all Alex in rare, comical form, playing several characters on the Snakes and Arrows Leela board. The board shifts arounds the screen and highlights certain lines to which Alex pops up and executes typical ALex rants.
The drum solo is completely new
There is a South Park video intro to Tom Sawyer; during the video, Cartman sings the wrong lyrics and then says "I'm Geddy LEE and I can sing it however I want" then the South Park characters counted it in again and the real Rush begin the song.

Based on all the unusual songs in the setlist, I say they are planning an after tour DVD.

Try to use spoiler tags, I know a lot of people don't like to know what is on the setlist.

Thanks!

I just sincerely hope they add
Spoiler:
Vital Signs
to their set, as it's my favorite Rush song and who knows if I'll ever be seeing them live again.

I'm just pissed that just because I ordered the tix thru the Rush website, that they still haven't mailed out our tickets for the July 23rd show. Stopping scalping is one thing, but this is ridiculous.

The tickets will probably come while I'm on my 3 week vacation and hopefully they don't get lost at the post office, where I'm holding my mail.

Aren't they coming from Canada? I hear their Mail system is wonky.

I got my tix for Both LA shows from Ticket-rapster but I forgot to buy a ticket for the park and ride from Torrance to the Hollywood Bowl. It's no big deal because I can pay cash at the bus but it's nice to have the ticket ahead of time.

The Nissan show kicked ass...as usual...Geddy's voice sounds better than the last two tours...it must be his diet of chicken...

"Wonky" is an understatement, but things coming from Canada seem to take less time getting here than things going to Canada.

Spoiler:
At a recent show, they apparantly played Distant Early Warning instead of Summertime Blues. Thank God.
