No love for any cities west of the mississippi?

JPRaup 02-05-07 02:26 PM

no New York??

weird

Giles 02-05-07 02:29 PM

the more I think of this news, the more and more I get mad... this is no reason why Muse needs to be a support they have enough of a fanbase to do their own tour... thanks but no thanks, even if I were to go the Merriweather show, I wouldn't stay around to see My Chemical Romance (not my cup of tea).

W to the T to the F!?? How did I miss that? Muse opens for MCR?? Oh HELL no! Yes, this pisses me off too.

I'm a big muse fan as well... have seen them twice on the Black Holes tour already... and a total of 6 times... but I have to admit that the new MCR cd Black Parade is seriously one of the best cds of 2006... I can't wait to see both! maybe it'll be more of a co-headlining show where they play nearly the same amount of time - it's just that muse starts it off and Mcr finishes it...

TripWire 02-06-07 11:17 AM

yeah back when years ago, I was somewhat an aquaintence with the drummer from MCR before they were big, he was all like dude you ever hear of "The Muse", I'm like you mean Muse? And then on went this conversation on how great they were.

So I guess at least the band are fans, and like it or not MCR is more popular in the states.

Though talent and music wise, I would take Muse over MCR in a heartbeat.

Rocketdog2000 02-07-07 12:32 AM

While Muse is an infinitely better band, the sad truth is that they are still not that well known in the US - hence the opening slot position on this tour. Usually when they do a headlining tour here, it's for clubs or smaller theaters, since they wouldn't be able to yet sell out an arena here.

But what the hell, I'll take any chance I can get to see them, even if it's as the opening act, and especially since they're actually playing in my town on this tour, and I don't have to travel 2 hours to the nearest bigger city to see them. And on top of that, it's even on a night I won't have to ask for off to see the show.

I actually feel sorry for MCR following Muse - Muse is such a great live act, that almost any band following them (especially one as lame as MCR) will greatly pale by comparison.

Pollstar already states that they are going to be included on the bill for this year's Canadian Virgin Festival.

My reaction as well. No NY/NJ concert !?

Even more perplexing .. and I have a tough time getting my head around this idea that it isn't a joke ...

Muse is the opening act to MCR ?

I feel bad for MCR then ... they have a tough act to follow. :)

JPRaup 02-10-07 09:58 PM

yea Muse >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MCR

i think we can all agree on that

candyrocket786 02-16-07 05:16 PM

When do tickets go on sale?

We're definitely going to head right out the door once Muse finishes their set.

Reminds me of the Bush / Matchbox 20 tour. Very strange pairing. The old newsgroups were abound with Bush fans offering to split tix with M20 fans and swap outside the show. I actually bought my M20 stub for $5 from some kid coming out of the area after Bush (for some reason I liked M20 then). Of course, this was when you could actually do stuff like this.

Jack Straw 02-18-07 02:14 PM

For the record, I'm thrilled about this pairing. These are currently two of my favorite groups. I just hope they make it out West to So. Cal.

DullandWitless 02-18-07 04:38 PM

I'm not supporting a tour including My Chemical Romance.

Nevi 02-18-07 08:38 PM

If Muse were the main act and coming to the Madison or Chicago areas I'd be there in a heartbeat. That said, I can't stand MCR and they're not playing anywhere close. :(
