I'm stealing/lifting Dr. RingDing's descriptions for each rating as I really rather like them.

I'm discounting Greatest Hits collections here such as Rocket Man or Crystal Visions.

Superlative, career-making work.

Hard to top and missing just a small something that would otherwise make it 5 stars.

Amy Winehouse Back To Black
Mika Life In Cartoon Motion
Rufus Wainwright Release The Stars
La Vie En Rose: La Mome
Crowded House Time On Earth
Hairspray: Soundtrack to the Motion Picture
Teddy Thompson Upfront and Down Low
M.I.A. Kala
The War: A Ken Burns Film
Jill Scott The Real Thing: Words & Sounds, Volume Three

Excellent album but still room for improvement.

The Painted Veil
Starter For 10
Life On Mars
Hot Fuzz (Original U.K. Version)
Zodiac
The Fratellis Costello Music
Tracey Thorn Out Of The Woods
Mark Ronson Version
Bjork Volta
Arctic Monkeys Favourite Worst Nightmare
This Is England
Groove Armada Soundboy Rock
Manic Street Preachers Send Away The Tigers
Joe Strummer:The Future Is Unwritten
Paul McCartney Memory Almost Full
Barbra Streisand Live In Concert 2006
Ocean's Thirteen
We All Love Ella: Celebrating The First Lady Of Song
Mutya Buena Real Girl
Dizzee Rascal Maths and English
Instant Karma: The Campaign To Save Darfur
Kelly Clarkson My December
Ryan Adams Easy Tiger
Ratatouille
White Stripes Icky Thump
Talk To Me
Velvet Revolver Libertad
Kano London Town
Josh Rouse Country Mouse, City House
KCRW - Sounds Eclectic: The Covers Project
Dean Martin: Forever Cool
300
Chamillionaire Ultimate Victory
Reba McEntire Reba Duets
Across The Universe
Common Finding Forever
Chris Botti Italia
Goin' Home: A Tribute To Fats Domino
Control
Angie Stone The Art of Love and War

I enjoy it, but there's something missing.

Smokin' Aces
Alpha Dog
Billy Strayhorn: Lush Life
Joss Stone Introducing Joss Stone
Timbaland Timbaland Presents Shock Value
Blades Of Glory
Pride
Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof
LCD Soundsystem Sound Of Silver
Natasha Bedingfield N.B.

Entourage
Darren Hayes This Delicate Thing We've Made
Gloria Estefan 90 Millas
Kurt Cobain: About A Son
House M.D.
Kanye West Graduation
Ali Campbell Running Free
Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?

Middle of the road, I don't actively dislike it but I probably won't listen to it much either. For older artists, it means it's completely forgettable by comparison.

Freedom Writers
Stomp The Yard
Norah Jones Not Too Late
Dave Koz At The Movies
Harry Connick Jr. Oh My Nola
Harry Connick Jr. Chanson De Vieux Carre
Hot Fuzz (U.S. Version)
We All Love Ennio Morricone
Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror
Meet The Robinsons
One Tree Hill Volume Three: The Road Trip Mix
Disturbia
Michael Buble Call Me Irresponsible
Surf's Up
Smashing Pumpkins Zeitgeist
Kat De Luna Nine Lives
Linkin Park Minutes To Midnight
Friday Night Lights: Original TV Soundtrack
Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings 100 Days, 100 Nights

Hmm. I can't get into it at all. Heading into active dislike.

The Holiday
Chemical Brothers We Are The Night
Joan Osborne Breakfast In Bed
Kelly Rowland Ms. Kelly

No Sir, I don't like it.

They Might Be Giants The Else

I actively dislike it and would rather jab my ears out with cotton swabs.

Shoot me before playing this, please.

By the way, the #1 and #2 albums were neck and neck and far ahead of the rest of the pack. It will be interesting to see if they end up that way or if another album sneaks in.

Also, fair warning: You must update your list within 3 months of the end of the year to have it counted on the final tally.

After all of the rave reviews here I bought LCD-Soundsystem. It answered a very deep question I've always pondered: What would happen if you gave a 1980's Casio keyboard to a few ten year olds? Sound Of Silver.
