Not a bad second disc - It makes a decent bonus disc for the Live From Chicago DVD. From my quick scan, the following tracks are not on the Chicago setlist.

2. I Will Follow
4. Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
5. All I Want Is You
8. Miss Sarajevo
10. With Or Without You

Chrisedge 11-11-06 07:46 PM

Love the new song. Windows In The Skies

Decker 11-19-06 02:51 AM

Are we sure about the second disc? It's weird that they wouldn't have packaged it with the U218 Singles video dvd instead.

edit; I checked their official site and I guess it is a DVD of the Vertigo tour. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the $18.99 that Circuit City will be charging for it.

Okay, I've been in a few Wal-Marts and Targets and haven't been able to find this cd/dvd combo, even though Target is supposed to be selling it for $19.99. I haven't seen the dvd of videos, either.

Borders has the cd/dvd and also the single dvd versions.

Hollowgen 11-22-06 12:57 PM

any word on the reissue/remaster of the back catalogue? seems like everywhere i look, there's just some reissue of Rattle and Hum on import.

FYI: There are 3 Items available

CD: 18 Singles
CD: 18 Singles [Deluxe Edition w/ Live DVD] comes in a book type package
DVD: 18 Singles [Videos] comes in a slim case

I already have the first 2 Best of volumes. So I got the deluxe version [to make it worthwhile purchase] for $18.99 @ BB [w/ CC pm] and also got the DVD for $13.99 @ BB.

Love the new songs and will gladly pay the best band on the planet for their music all over again. These albums never hurt their productivity. With rare occasions aside, they still release about 3 albums a decade or 1 every 3-4 years.

BDB 11-23-06 01:05 AM

are any of the songs re-worked?

Remixed, no. Edited, yes, a few like (and I hate when they do this) "New Year's Day" and "Where the Streets Have No Name".

For those that bought the deluxe set, how's the live in Milan footage? I'm still on the fence about purchasing this.

As awesome as any and every U2 concert...just a shame that it's not the full show, but the video's great and the audio's insane. Jump off the fence and pick it up!

Thanks. I ordered a copy tonight. Fingers crossed that they revisit this someday down the road and give us the full show. Also, I've been hearing rumors of an upcoming Imax or 3D concert film that will be based on U2 tour footage shot in South America earlier this year.

Its stunning, amazing audio/video quality and a better performance. Its amazing that everytime Bono seems to be struggling with his voice it still results in an incredible performance. I hope this release doesnt mean we'll never see the full show.

In other u2 news, do yourself a favor and download one of the recent live shows. The setlists are insane. There is an incredible sounding version of the 11/29th show making its rounds and it has Window in the Skies and One Tree Hill. One Tree Hill is unreal, the emotion is still off the charts. If you dont know the history of One Tree Hill, look it up.

Last nights show was stellar with Billy Joe coming out for Saints and Pearl Jam coming out for Keep on Rockin in the Free World. 2hr 55min of tape!

So we should be expecting to hear a stellar live recording soon. It sounds like it was a great show.

I enjoyed this show a lot too, the performances and seeing that huge crowd was amazing! Is the concert recording an official one or do I have to look in the usual locations?

Cool, can't wait to hear it. I'm sure its great, you are pretty modest when it comes to your excellent recordings.
