TV on the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain

I still haven't gotten this yet. How's it? I've heard many good things about it.

Also, why did the release get delayed so many times? I know they reworked it after they missed their original release date. Did they retool the songs or what? Did they add or subtract songs?

Primarily though, I want to know how it is!

It's been out in the UK for 2 and a half months. There's 3 bonus tracks added at the end of the US version to entice people who already bought the import; other than that, there's no difference between the US and UK versions. I think it was only held up because it was released through Interscope in the US, as opposed to 4AD in the UK; the usual excuse for a major label delaying a release long after it's finished is "we wanted the proper opportunity to promote it and not conflict with our other releases".

It's an excellent album, probably one of my favorites of this year; definitely worth the $7.99 they're charging for it at places like Best Buy.

One of the best albums released this year. Much better than their debut LP and that one was great.

Ok, I bought it off of iTunes last night. It's excellent! Definitely in my top 10 for the year. The atmospherics remind me of My Bloody Valentine.

I liked the album, but I like similar albums by bands like Mono, GSYBE and The Books a little more.
