I hear you, but I still think Gene Simmons and George Lucas might be brothers from other mothers. They're ruthless marketing geniuses, aren't they?

I picked up the set with the Madison Square Garden bonus disc and the bonus disc is inside the set in a small cardboard sleeve. So, if the others are the same, it looks like they'll all have to be opened in order to get to the bonus discs. I tried to find the Wal-Mart set with the Largo, MD bonus disc, but my local Wal-Mart didn't seem to have it yet. Best Buy had plenty with the Cobo Hall bonus disc. So, I held off for now, but I'm sure I'll end up buying it. I think I'm going to try to price match Circuit City's price at Best Buy, though.

So...if you were going to get just one bonus disc...which one would it be and why? I am still trying to decide what location to buy mine.

My Walmart only had one copy. Circuit City & Best Buy had tons of copies. WalMart & Circuit City's were $17 after tax. Best Buy was about $3 higher.

Just got done skimming through the whole thing and all bonus disks.

I'd recommend the WalMart one. The Largo '77 show is a great performance, and is about an hour long. The Best Buy bonus disk is from an arena that is already on the same program, but different night (and it's not as good as the main program Cobo Hall show). It's about an hour. The MSG show (all other stores) is my favorite, but it's only 27 minutes.

The main programs themselves are amazing. There's even commentary! (not the whole 7 hours or whatever, but more like mini commentaries; very interesting though)

KISS!

Thanks for the opinion nodeerforamonth! I will use my CC ad to price-match with Walmart if necessary.

Have the track listings been released for each bonus disc or did I overlook it in this thread?

Yup, the Wal Mart bonus disk is in that same cardboard sleeve the same as the others. But man, what a deal. $16 for a 3 DVD set. I absolutely can't wait to tear into this thing tonight.

Stupid trick or treaters will just have to wait.

I'll be heading to my local Best Buy after work today. But, I am predicting right now what is going to happen around Christmastime in 2007...

After both Kissology Vol's II and III are both released (each one also with 3 different bonus 3rd discs), the "mother of all" Kissology box sets is going to come out. And it will include all 6 of the regular Kissology discs AND all of the bonus discs AND some special never-released bonus bonus disc. This way, people that went out and bought 3 copies of each to get the bonus discs will have to buy it all over again.

I love the old KISS stuff and all. But, Gene and Paul are still total merchandising whores!

Also forgot to ask...does it mention the bonus disc on the outside of the packages at Walmart, BB, and the like?

There's an EXCLUSIVE sticker on the front of the shrink wrap stating that it's in there, but there's no mention on the packaging itself.

I just wanted to let you guys the know the reason why Walmart does not have any copies of the Kiss dvd is because the booklet inside is messed and has duplicate copies of pages in the booklet. I guess the distributor for Walmart messed up. I was able to pick up one in Perry Hall, MD and I might take it back or trade it in at Record and Tape Traders. The guy had to go to the back to get 2 copies.

That really sucks. I picked it up today at Best Buy and was going to Wal-Mart tomorrow and get the Largo bonus dvd. I'm not sure if I'm going to get the one that Target, Amazon.com and others have.

I got mine at Circuit City today, and I've got to say this - it's a damned good thing that they did this DVD set, because those original video tapes are starting to disintegrate! They DESPERATELY needed to make digital copies to preserve them.

Too bad they couldn't have done that a decade ago before the worst of the decomposition of the video tapes set in. Still, it's a great set and one hell of a time capsule!

I'm just wondering why the hell "Deuce" from the Midnight Special wasn't included. I've seen it on bootleg tapes and on YouTube. It was a great performance, and it should have been included.

Still, a PHENOMENAL set overall.... (And I love the Coventry easter egg!)

Price matched CC at Walmart today. The booklet messup must be regional as
mine seems fine with no repeating pages and each segment having its own
writeup.

I watched Disc 1 last night. Wow! What a great set! I love the commentary by Paul and Gene and I wish there was more of it.

Anyone see the Ace's wedding easter egg (disk 2)?!?! Horrible quality, but some amazing footage! Amazing how that never got out. Footage of KISS in their prime playing without makeup had to be worth quite a bit of money back in the day!

The only bonus disc worth picking up is the Walmart Largo '77 disc. It's the best quality of the 3, and it's previously unavailable. The other two discs are available in very similar quality and complete on bootlegs.

Anyone have the set list of the Best Buy Cobo bonus disc? The Largo disc is great. I'm not sure if I'll get the MSG disc since it is only 27 minutes.

I found the Kiss set with the Largo '77 disc at Wal-Mart in Glen Burnie, MD (Crain Hwy) and the booklet was fine. I went to both Targets in Glen Bunie and neither of them had the set at all. Oh well, I wanted the one from the Cap Center anyway. Saw Rush, Metallica and Aerosmith there. Was a great arena and sad to see it gone.

The Cap Center is gone? I didn't know that, I had my mom take me to a WWF show there when I was little, Killer Khan defeated Hulk Hogan by countout and the British Bulldogs came to save him.

anyway, I picked up the Wal Mart set last night, Really cool, my booklet was fine.

Is the Largo 77 disc the whole complete show? I find it hard to believe they didn't do Beth or Detroit Rock City

I'm sure that none of the bonus DVDs are complete shows, just extra (albeit edited) shows.

According to folks on Amazon, the Largo disc is the only bonus disc with a menu or song selection. I thought that was weird. Anyway, I picked it up last night at Wally World along with the 5-disc set from noted KISS fan Garth Brooks. That's 8 DVDs of concert material for $36. Not too shabby at all.
