Pink does Joan Jett on NBC Football

No need to move to mature ...

So did anyone see this and have any thoughts?

Pink Reworks Joan Jett for NFL

August 30, 2006

The sassy songstress is redoing Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself for Loving You" as the theme for NBC Sunday Night Football.
I hadn't heard about this and when I saw it, I thought it was Joan Jett herself performing the song, one of the few heavier songs that I like (and it probably doesn't even qualify as that heavy), a great energetic mix of metal, glam and bubblegum. She has sported a blond punked out look in recent years (not a favorite, plus anyone named "Jett" should have black hair) lending to my confusion.

So even though I'm not crazy about this being refitted to the MNF theme, I hope Joan is able to pocket boatloads of money and get some recognition.

I guess it would be too easy to use the classic Brisco County Jr. theme song remix that NBC used up until 1997, when they lost football. From what I caught of the Thursday night broadcast, Sunday Night Football looks like the XFL.

For those that don't remember:

It was really really really really really really bad. Her "dance moves" were even worse. She looks like this guy I used to know.

Lots of folks are also forgetting that the original version of the song was written/performed by [convicted child molester] Gary Glitter, who wrote/performed that OTHER big sports chestnut, "Rock & Roll, Part 1".
The convicted child molester part kinda gives new meaning to the Glitter/Pink/Jett song.

ewwwww

Incorrect. That was "Do You Wanna Touch Me" not "I Hate Myself For Loving You".

Yes, it was really bad. Some of the stuff from Hank Williams Jr. might not have been great, but none of it approached the low level they hit with this.
