Foo Fighters

and of course Rush

"With a bit of luck we will have an album out early in 2007 and then go out on the road maybe next spring if we are lucky. It's a little too early to tell yet what direction the new material is taking, but Alex and I are just having a blast. We are getting songs written so we are getting there. We kind of record while we write and we would say that we will write and record for the duration of this year. You just never know where it is going to go. I think that's what keeps it fun for us and I am glad that there are people out there that appreciate that." - Geddy Lee, More Sugar, May 2006
"By the end of May, we had eight songs that we all liked, and I had worked out drum parts for six of the end of our month together, I was driving from Toronto to Quebec for a few days’ rest, and I was able to listen to the songs we had been working on in the familiar, pleasurable space of a car cruising down the long, straight highway. The next day I wrote to Alex and Geddy, 'On the drive back yesterday, I did have the opportunity to listen to the new songs with some objectivity, in my favorite listening environment, and I wanted to tell you I think they are great! The freshest stuff we have done since — well, ever! As I intuited when I first heard your song sketches, there is something very different about the character of these songs, and I’m really pleased by that. I mean to say — at our ages!'... Are all of these potential releases coming from reliable sources? (I mean, outside of Detox and Chinese Democracy, of course. I no longer consider Axl nor Dre reliable sources when it comes to talking about those albums.)

Dream Theater (should be hitting the studio soon for a spring release according to their website)

Coincidentally, their new 3-Disc live CD and DVD release "Score" came out yesterday.

Supposedly, that's when U2's next entry drops, so I'm, of course, chomping at the reins...

Really? Can you provide a source? (I'm not questioning the statement, I'm genuinely curious and want to read more about it.)

Far and away the new Smashing Pumpkins album.

I'm also highly anticipating the new Glenn Tilbrook album as well as The Polyphonic Spree's "The Fragile Army".
