Bands named after movies or celebrities

I haven't thought about this much, but it sprung up when I was listening to the new Robocop Kraus album. Aren't there a lot of bands named after celebrities or movies? I thought of The Mr. T Experience and then figured you guys could name some as well.

So... go on.

If we are talking about bands that most have never heard of like the ones the OP mentioned well I suppose that list could go on forever.

My contribution:

I think They Might Be Giants was a movie, though I'm not sure the band was named directly after the movie.

You're right. From Wikipedia:

The band takes its name from the 1971 movie They Might Be Giants starring George C. Scott and Joanne Woodward (based on the play of the same name written by James Goldman). The play (and movie) title is an allusion to Don Quixote, who mistook windmills for giants

Veruca Salt definitely counts, since it was the name of the little girl in Willy Wonka.

maybe not a 'celebrity', but an historical figure of some note:
Jethro Tull

per Wikipedia:
Jethro Tull (born 1674 in Basildon, Berkshire; died 21 February 1741 in Shalbourne, Berkshire) was an English agricultural pioneer during the Industrial Revolution, and the Agricultural Revolution. He helped transform agricultural practices by inventing or improving numerous implements, the most notable being the seed drill, which he invented in 1701

The Bruce Lee Band (who later changed their name to The B. Lee Band)
None More Black (a reference to This Is Spinal Tap)
Save Ferris
The Dillinger Escape Plan (though I don't know that Dillinger counts as a celebrity)
Kane Hodder
Goldfinger
Propagandhi
Rx Bandits (who were originally called the Pharmaceutical Bandits in reference to the film Drugstore Cowboy...they changed their name because people were constantly misspelling pharmaceutical on flyers and posters)
Say Anything

It's kind of a stretch, but A Wilhelm Scream is named after the sound effect frequently used in films.

Also, The Suicide Machines started out as Jack Kevorkian And The Suicide Machines.

I just found out tonight there is a band called Joe Lawler and the Mathletes in San Antonio. I'm a music writer named Joe Lawler. It turns out they didn't name the band after me, though.
