Definitive 80's collection?

OK, I'm looking for the definitive 80's pop music collection. I want to get a hold of all the songs I grew up listening to. Originally I was thinking I would like to get the Billboard top 100 for every year, but that would take a boatload of money to acquire. Doing some searching I've found tons of "various artists" and mix CDs. There are so many out there... but it could take forever mixing and matching to get all the songs I'd like to have.

Does anyone know of a set or series of discs that covers the most? Maybe a set of 10 discs or something like that? Keep in mind that I want more than just #1's.

I appreciate the input.

Something like this?

Or this?

I've thought about picking this one up one of these days:

Like, Omigod! The '80s Pop Culture Box (Totally)

Don't we have, like, 10 threads on this already?

Schnickies! That's a great compilation.

Compilation albums are mostly the one and two hit wonders.

If you stay with compilations, you'll never have 80s heyday hits from

Michael Jackson
Madonna
Bruce Springsteem
Bon Jovi
U2
Culture Club
Duran Duran
Cyndi Lauper
Def Leppard
Van Halen
Pet Shop Boys
INXS

I did my due diligence - I did a search for "80's" and "80s" and checked the first 4 pages... nothing. But thanks for finding that other one for me.

Josh-Da-Man and TomOpus - THANKS! Those are the kind of things I'm looking for. That one on Amazon seems like it may be the way to go.

Luckily I already have MJ and Madonna's greatest hits. The rest... yeah, you're right. That's why I was originally considering getting the top 100 hits from every year. But that seems infeasible.

I suppose that's sort of the point of compilations; so you don't have to buy full albums from all of the one-hit wonders.

Albums like VH's 1984 and 5150, Def Lep's Pyromania, Duran Duran's Rio, etc., should probably be in a collection of anyone interested in 80s music. But many may not feel the need to have a full Kajagoogoo album.

I HIGHLY recommend this 5 volume series, now out of print but attainable.

I'll second the Living in Oblivion set. It probably has most of what you are looking for, without the asinine name the other 80's boxed set has.

That's a good one. I've been compiling my own personal 80's mp3 collection folder. I'm up to almost 200 songs I think, most of which are from that set.
