G. Love and Special Sauce - "Lemonade"

3. Hot Cookin'
4. Can't Go Back to Jersey

6. Holla!
7. Banger
8. Thanks and Praise
9. Let the Music Play
10. Free

15. Love

Guests include Ben Harper, Donovan Frankenreiter, Jasper, Dave Hidalgo (Los Lobos), Blackalicious, Marc Broussard, Tristan Prettyman and Jack Johnson.

An album preview is up at the band's MySpace page. I like what I've heard so far.

Kinda sucks that Special Sauce aren't billed on the album (again). The latest EW has a quote from the band's rep saying the shorter name looks better on the packaging. Okay.

One of my regrets is not seeing them when I was in college. They came in support of their debut album (which I love) - for only $5 - but I passed. But they'll be playing here in August, so I'll likely go to that show.

Anyone else looking forward to this?

And as an added bonus, the CD (case) also smells like lemons, too. No joke, I am not kidding at all about this. Check for yourself tomorrow.

Just picked up the disc. No lemony-fresh smell, though.

Oh, man, I LOVED "Viva Variety"! Especially Johnny Blue Jeans. Doubtful that it will ever make it to DVD, though.

Yeah, they did last summer's "Chilltop" ad for Coke Zero. I have been searching for an mp3 of the song ever since, to no avail. Anyone have it?

Actually, I have to correct my last post a bit. It's not the CD itself, but a scratch and sniff sticker on the front. Sorry for the confusion - but still a fairly interesting idea.

Woo-hoo! Going to see them tonight at Innsbrook - for free, to boot, since my ticket's a birthday present from my brother. Anyone else from here going (or have been to a show on this tour)?

I saw him several years ago and it was a great time. I wish he'd come through my city again as I'd love to see him again.
