Music Trivia Question

Why do these particular albums belong on a list together:

Meet the Residents (The Residents, 1974)
Get Born (Jet, 2003)
We're Only In it For The Money (Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, 1968)
This is Spinal Tap (Spinal Tap, 1984)
McLemore Avenue (Booker T and the MGs, 1970)
Demon Days (Gorrilaz, 2005)

Hint:
Spoiler:
The albums are in that order for a reason

The album covers all parody Beatles albums.

JasonF 07-29-06 07:06 PM

Correct! I listed them in the order of the Beatles albums they copy:
With the Beatles (1963)
Revolver (1966)
Sgt. Pepper (1967)
The Beatles [the White Album] (1968)
Abbey Road (1969)
Let it Be (1970)

So is this going to be open for other questions once the current one is answered correctly? I'm up for playing.

Sounds good. I'll start us off with one just to keep the thread going:

Pretty busy at work today. If something comes to mind, I'll post it, but go ahead and ask away if you've got more...

I have one:

What do the Partridge Family and Prince have in common?

Probably, but not the answer I had in mind. Go deeper.

They both favored velvet suits with ruffled lace collars? :)

Well, pretty much correct, so I'll give it to you. Each had a member of the Melvoin family: The Partridge Family had father Mike Melvoin playing on their albums, and Prince of course had daughter Wendy Melvoin.
