An odd one I can think of off the top of my head: a cover of Strange Days done by 90's metal band (still around I believe?) and Ray Manzarek from the soundtrack for the film......wait for it........Strange Days. A cool flick! I also like the song that Juliette Lewis did on that album too called Hardly Wait. Sounds pretty close to "The Licks" style of music if you dig that.

Archive.org got me thinking and I looked for covers of "Riders on the Storm"...

Found this one by Agents of Good Roots (awesome late 90s roots-rock band). Listening to it now. Seems to start a bit slow but should be fun.

(I was fortunate to see AGR twice before they disbanded, both times I was in tiny, hot & humid bars - great atmosphere).

Edit to add: That version actuall has Dave on vocals.

If anyone wants to listen, there are mp3s here:

The Jeff Healey Band did "Roadhouse Blues" on the movie Roadhouse soundtrack. Blue Oyster Cult use to do the same song live and it is on Extraterrestrial Live

The Crystal Method has done a remix of Roadhouse Blues. Sort of a cover, sort of decent.
