Pavement: Wowee Zowee reissue news
from pitchforkmedia:
Pavement's Wowee Zowee to Be Reissued
Wowee Zowee is right. Following in the footsteps of their 2002 reissue of Pavement's 1992 debut album Slanted & Enchanted and their 2004 reissue of 1994's Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, Matador will reissue Pavement's fan-favorite third studio release, 1995's Wowee Zowee.
While a tracklist, release date, and load of additional information are still in the works, a few exciting tidbits about the reissue have been revealed by the folks at Matador.
Wowee Zowee version 2.0 will include around twenty album covers by Steve Keene, a never-before-heard concert from the WZ tour, and a number of previously unreleased tracks and rarities, many of which are alternate takes. And that's all we know right now, sorry!

I love these Pavement reissues....tons of content for less than $15.00. This one sounds great!

Excellent news! I sold my copy of Wowee Zowee years ago, because I (gasp!)
didn't much get into it. But I'm older now, maybe my tastes have changed, so I'm willing to give this album another chance.
Maybe next year we'll see a deluxe edition of the painfully underrated Brighten the Corners? Assuming of course, the United States is still around. Haven't you heard World War III is coming soon??

The same reason I sold my "Slanted" disc. I have not checked out the deluxe of that, but have "Crooked Rain." I am looking forward to Wowee Zowee, and I very much agree w/ you on Brighten the Corners.

Pavement Pre-Order Yields Rare Live Show, Single
Matador Wants You to "Wow Out"
Hold that Soulseek-leeching mouse click, because Matador has arranged a special incentive for customers who pre-order Pavement's previously reported Wowee Zowee: Sordid Sentinels Edition from participating record stores. Record stores?! Remember those?!
The "Wow Out" program works like this: pre-order the album and receive a "super rare" live show and an extremely limited 7".
Upon arranging the pre-order, customers will be given a unique code via e-mail; this enables them to download the entire live show, recorded April 24, 1994 at L.A.'s Palace, when Pavement were just introducing Wowee tracks to their audience.
Then, on November 7, purchasers will open their mailbox to find both Wowee Zowee: Sordid Sentinels Edition and the aforementioned vinyl. The latter's A-side boasts a rare version of "Black Out" recorded around the time of Crooked Rain's release. It was originally slated for a Thurston Moore-curated compilation, but that didn't end up happening. The B-side holds a previously unreleased version of "Extradition", with different vocals and a "slightly different mix" than the album brought.
Pavement at The Palace on April 24, 1994 tracklist:
01 Box Elder
02 Range Life
03 Brinx Job
04 Brink of the Clouds
05 Unfair
06 Easily Fooled
07 Best Friend's Arm
08 She Believes
09 Silent Kid
10 Black Out
11 Summer Babe
12 Elevate Me Later
13 Heckler Spray
14 In the Mouth a Desert
15 Fight This Generation
16 Debris Slide
17 Two States
18 Stop Breathing
------------------
Wow, that sounds pretty cool!!
