Weird Al's New Album ----> 9/26/06

After being announced for the end of June then being pulled back, Weird Al Yankovic's new album will be released on September 26, 2006 and apparently is entitled "Straight Out of Lynwood"

I'm just guessing this is the cover. I see no reason to think it isn't.

I think it was a longer than normal wait because his parents died a couple years ago tragically.

Here's a link to USA Today about Al's parents for those who don't know the story. (Although I know there is a thread somewhere here about it)

I think i remember reading something from him saying how he recieved alot of letters in the past from fans saying that his music had helped them through tough times and that he was going to continue to tour (after his parents died) in hopes that his music would help him through that tough time.

Here's the original thread about Al's parents at DVDTalk. it was from two months before I joined, but I knew there had to be one.

A recent interview with John K. of Ren & Stimpy fame over at CHUD.com revealed that he was working on a video for Al, and that every song on the album was to have an animated video. I thought that was tremendously fun news.

Actually his gap from "Running with Scissors" in 1999 to "Poodle Hat" in 2003 was a longer wait

Here's some GREAT new info on the album, from the man himself!

http://www.weirdal.com/sol.htm

6 Brand New Music Videos!!! I guess he's making up for the fact that he didn't make any REAL music videos for "Poodle Hat" because of that Eminem deal.

Plus, a DualDisc makes it even better! I can't wait!

I can't order the album, says my billing address doesn't match the one on file with the AVS or something like that...

I HATE dual discs! I'd rather have separate CD & DVD.
