Does anyone know why National Trasure soundtrack is OOP?

I searched the threads and couldn't find anything. I visited the Disney site, couldn't find anything.
I sent an email to Disney stating:

I have been trying to find the soundtrack for National Treasure and
learned it is out of print.
1. Why did it go out of print so fast, and
2. Will it be re-released anytime soon?

I would really appreciate a response. Thank you.

I received a response today of:

Thank you for your e-mail regarding NATIONAL TREASURE soundtrack. We
appreciate your interest.

For information about our music, or to purchase our music, you may go
to WaltDisneyRecords.com where you will find a current directory of
available titles. This site also features the list of songs that are on
each tape, CD or DVD.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact us.

I was disappointed and sent a reply message that asked them if they could even attempt to answer either question.

Does anyone know why its was OOP, why so fast, and if it will be sold again?

I'm not surprised. It's almost 2 years old... movie soundtracks without hit singles or widely-known anthems (superman, star wars) have a short shelf/production life.

Probably the only place to get it will be the second hand market. It likely wont be sold again.

But a Disney movie? I'm guessing they sell more soundtrack DVD's than anyone else. Just seems odd to me how many crappy and old movies' soundtracks I see in stores while this was taken OOP barely a year after its release.

Don't use "Disney" as the key point here.

An orchestral score is not going to sell the same as the soundtrack to Aladdin. That's just a fact.

But if we're going to be realistic here, let's be realistic; there are tons of less memorable, far older scores that are still reaily available for purchase; I agree with the OP--this is a very quick turn-around for a title to go OOP.

I was just a little annoyed that I had to create an ebay and paypal account and pay $30 (s/h incl) for it instead $15 at a local store or off amazon for only 2 years out. Not a huge deal, until the person from Disney sent me that worthless email. I mean a totally worthless response.

The reason soundtracks go OOP is because nobody wants to pay more than the entire movie for about an hour of music from it.

but is it really oop? or rather is the location of where it's being sold hidden within a secret map in the us constitution?

LOL, Rubix....I spewed Cheerio's laughing, dammit!

The score seems to still be availble on amazon.ca. Plus I checked a couple of days ago and i can still order this in at my store, so it seems to be availble in Canada still.

Was it really that good a soundtrack that it is worth $30?

I don't know about others, but I liked the score a lot. I ordered one from ebay from a seller in canada. I had thought that the case was a cardboard one, but wasn't sure. Mine came in a hard jewel case. And it came in a 'cd sleve' like the ones fye or wherehouse uses to sell used ones. It did not have original tight packaging or anything. It doesn't look used, but it's not new because doesn't have the original package. Doesn't anyone know if disney soundtracks are packaged/made differently for canada? Is it worth returning or requesting refund because it was not 'new' as advertised?
