How many of the Pearl Jam live 2CD series have u got?

I was wondering how many of the live PJ live series have u guys/girls got, and also which ones you'd consider the best? I've alreay read how the Boston, St. Louis, Philadelphia and New York sets are among the best. Any other recommendations?

Josh H 06-07-06 12:29 PM

I have 7 total, though keep in mind that 2005 and 2006 aren't available as cds, but just mp3 downloads for 2005 and mp3 or FLAC downloads for 2006. Though the current ones come with artwork so you can print up your own discs and inserts after burning them.

For this tour I have the 3 shows I went too, Camden I and II and DC. Set lists I'd rank them:

Camden II
DC
Camden I

Audio Quality DC sounds a good bit better than the 2 Camden shows.

For past tours Benaroya Hall (accoustic) is great, as are State College 2003, Seattle II 2000, and Pittsburgh 2000.

Katowice and Verona 2000 are pretty good as well.

You really need to specify the year which you are referring to. There are sets from 2000, 2003, 2005 and 2006.

Matt 06-07-06 12:56 PM

Officially, eight:

2000-05-30 London
2000-06-15 Katowice
2000-06-16 Katowice
2000-06-26 Hamburg
2000-10-22 Las Vegas (10th anniversary show)
2000-11-06 Seattle (three-disc set)

2003-04-03 Oklahoma City (first and only show I've seen in person--so far)
2003-10-22 Benaroya Hall

But, I was, uh, walking around town a couple years ago and found a pile of CD-Rs from the 2003 tour. That's right, found 'em.

2003-04-11 West Palm Beach
2003-04-18 Nashville
2003-05-02 Buffalo
2003-05-03 State College
2003-07-02 Mansfield
2003-07-03 Mansfield
2003-07-08 New York City
2003-07-11 Mansfield
2003-07-19 Mexico City

Of course, I immediately turned them in to the proper authorities.

Josh H 06-07-06 12:57 PM

Pearl Jam doesn't have a problem with trading bootlegs after they are no longer available for purchase, the the 2003 ones you found are ok these days. :D

Zero.

That's strange, I "found" a bunch as well...

All of 2000 that I hadn't purchased (bought VA Beach show that I attended)
All of 2003 that I hadn't purchased (bought DC and Raleigh shows that I attended)
All of 2005
Bought Boston I (attended) & II, East Rutherford II - 2006

The best -

VA Beach from 2000 because it was their first show after Rockskilde (sp?) where some fans were crushed to death at their show. You could hear the pain in Vedder's voice during Daughter/It's OK when he asks the crowd to sing along. To paraphrase - "The last time we asked the crowd to do something was under different circumstances. So sing loud, sing because you're alive..." Very powerful, even if you weren't there.

Boston I, II, III from 2003 - PJ's attempt to play every song from their catalogue with minimal repeats (I want to say they only repeated 1 or 2 songs).

Pearl Jam may not have a problem with trading bootlegs, but they're not moderating this board, are they?

-eek-

No, but the policy here is trading, DLing and discussion is allowed if the band allows live recordings and tape trading, IIRC.

SO 2003 and older boots would be fine if members want to discuss trading them, but not 2005 and 2006 as you can still buy and download them at bootlegs2.pearljam.com

Dubya 06-07-06 01:39 PM

From 2000 I have around 50 of the 72 available. For 2003 I have about thirty or so. For 2006 so far I have Toronto 2, Chicago 2, Albany, Grand Rapids, and when I have the time to download the FLAC version, I will have the D.C. show I attended.

emanon 06-07-06 01:42 PM

Most all of 'em. ;)

Nice to see you have something on your list that I did. (actually looking at your list, several things I had a "hand" in creating)

That's funny. His Raleigh 2003 show is from me.

InnocentBlood 06-07-06 08:42 PM

is there a site which does reviews of these CDs?

This site has a pretty extensive chronology of PJ's tours with discussion of each show, although I wouldn't call them reviews.

Sorry about that! I was mainly referring to the 2000 series, but you might as well include the others as well. Anyway, what I really wanted to know was which ones you'd consider among the best so I could start pickin' up on them.

By the way, to the rest of u, thanks and keep the recommendations coming. Most appreciated.

Some of my personal favorites from 2000 are:
Milan (incredible crowd, great call and response on Daughter, nice set list),
Tampa (Interstellar Overdrive before Corduroy, Romanza intro to Betterman, overall great show),
Memphis (diverse set list, fast version of Elvis' I Can't Help Falling in Love),
Las Vegas (10th anniversary show, slow version of I Can't Help Falling in Love, first time Crown of Thorns was ever played, Stone singing Mankind),
Seattle II (epic show, return of Alive, cover of The Who's The Kids Are Alright)

mkdevo 06-08-06 05:57 AM

all of 2000, all of 2003, all mp3s from 2005, and all FLACs of 2006 so far..

Care to give us some recommendations?

Anyway, I have:
2000 - Katowice, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Seattle 2, Jones Beach
2003 - Mansfield 3, Indianapolis, State College, MSG 1&2
2006 - Chicago 1, Boston 1&2

slop101 06-08-06 10:18 AM

I have the two Seattle shows from 2000
&
the two NY shows from 2003

Mostly because there's less overlap between two shows in the same city.

DamingR 06-08-06 11:17 AM

Is there anywhere that still has the 2000 CDs in stock? I would like to pick a couple up based on recommendations here and they're pretty high on half.com

I see them occasionally @ Best Buy...your smaller local stores should have some as well. Just depends I guess.

Bunch of both the 2000 & 2003 boots still available here:

http://www.sonymusicstore.com/store/...word=pearl+jam

Be sure to check pg2 for the 2000 shows.

PopcornTreeCt 06-08-06 03:40 PM

I don't see why anyone would bother to get more than one. Then again, I don't really understand Pearl Jam fans.
