Help me make a mix tape of current rap songs

I used to love rap in the 80's and early 90's.
Since then I just could not get into it anymore
as much as I tried.
So Here is one more attempt.
Since I have been out of the game for so long,
I'd like to make a mix-tape(CD) of current hip-hop
songs. I always like the underground stuff,
but for this experiment, I'd like to start with more popular stuff.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Honestly you are best off just sticking with those time periods. Seek out some albums/artists you may not have heard from that era and leave the modern crap alone.

E-40 - Tell Me When To Go
San Quinn - Hell Yeah
Keak Da Sneak - Super Hyphy Remix
Mr. F.A.B. - Kicked Out Da Club
Frontline - Now U Know

All in all I think the 90s were the best state of Hip Hop. I stopped from about 2001 to 2005 for the most part, but recently have noticed the pendulum swinging back to creativity again. Usually the best is found underground, but some good stuff is starting to sneak back onto the radio. Crossing my fingers.

I didn't say there have been NO good rap songs in ten years. I enjoyed a lot of the Def Jux stuff, mf Doom, shapeshifters, Stones Throw, etc...But when compared to 1986-1996 hip hop material, the past decade has sucked balls.

Current songs? Here are some not listed yet...

Too Short - Blow the Whistle
TI - Why You Wanna
DJ Khaled - Holla at Me

I'd stick with the old ones (Tribe Called Quest, DJ Quik, many more)

And just about anything from J-Dilla , Mad Lib , Madvillain , DangerDoom , and MF Doom.
