Ice Cube's back... June 6, 2006

One of the pioneers of West Coast Gangsta Rap is back on the map, as Ice Cube gets ready to release "Laugh Now, Cry Later" on June 6th.<br><br><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000FILWFY.01._AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_V51763661_.jpg"><br><br><div style="text-align: left;">Now, I see this, coupled with some of the track titles ("The ***** Trap", "Smoke Some Weed", and "A History Of Violence"), and the little kid in me wants to think that the Ice Cube of NWA, Today Was A Good Day, mama cooked the breakfast with no hog, king of the guppies is back.* 'Doughboy' from Boyz N' The Hood "<span style="font-style: italic;">Fool you don't go to college to be talkin' to no bitches. Your black ass 'posed to be learnin' somethin'. Can't learn shit talkin' to no stupid ass bitch</span>", C-walkin' in the park with the fellas...yeah, that Ice Cube.* However, whenever I see Ice Cube these days, I'm reminded of...<br><br><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://www.myvillage.com/images/arts&entertainment/comp_Are-We-There-Yet271.jpg"><br><br><span style="font-weight: bold;">Are We There Yet?<br><br></span><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"></span></span>Especially when I found out that he's filming "Are We Done Yet?", a sequel to the aforementioned piece of cinematic crap, and another kids movie where he plays a junior high teacher.* Makes me think 'Cube is just another mark ass bitch sometimes, but I guess he's got to make a paycheck sometime.<br><br>I'm excited for a few tracks (two tracks with one of my fav rappers, WC are on there, but nothing with Mack 10), but tracks like "Go To Church" and "Stop Snitchin'" make me worried.* <br><br>I guess we'll see on June 6th, if you're laughing now (because Ice Cube is back) and crying later (because you spent money on it).<br><br>= J<br><span style="font-weight: bold;"></span></div></div></div> </div>

I'll definately have to hear this first, way before I think about buying it. All for the same reasons you listed above.

Westsides last one will make me pick this one up,even though Cube is not what he use to be he still is a very good lyrisist.

It's an entertaining album, good production and great flow and delivery. But not a very good choice if you're looking for a "good" hip hop album.

Nicely put Tarantino.

Today Was A Good Day is classic.

I'll have to hear this one before buying. I did not at all like the last Westside Connection CD. Here's hoping.

He's got a track called "Stop Snitching"? Oh my...

Tarantino 06-01-06 09:15 PM

Well, I've given it a few listens. I'd say it's probably a 6 out of 10. The tracks he does well are great (Spittin' Pollaseeds, Why We Thugs, History Of Violence), but the bad ones...they're really bad.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that it's just a coincidence.
