What's this Enhanced Stereo crap?
I just bought the new T Bone Burnett CD (great album). It's a Dual Disc with an Enhanced Stereo track on the back. I have a SACD/DVD Audio player that plays those discs brilliantly. So I put on this Enhanced track and it sounds the same or worse than stereo. With no sub woofer bass at all. So basically it's playing on my small front surround speakers. Which we all know are not meant to be a complete spectrum of sound. What is this for people who have regular full range stereo speaker hooked up to their DVD?

Enhanced stereo is 48-kHz/16-bit linear PCM. The standard CD spec is
44.1/16. http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/art...rticle_id=1367 whoopie |
Oh yeah I can hear that extra 3.9 Khz now that you mention it.

The difference would definitely be subtle, but on a few dualdiscs I have that are "enhanced stereo" you can hear a slight difference.
