Sarah Mclachlan records new album...
...but it's a Christmas album.
2 things are for sure:
It will be out for Christmas this year.
It will probably be the most depressing Christmas album ever.

Plus a breathy adaption of Spinal Tap's "Christmas with the Devil."

new Sarah cd.
eh. a Christmas cd
Let's get some more original material. She needs a stellar followup to Fumbling.
Surfacing was almost it, but a few lesser tracks brought it down a little.
Afterglow wasn't even close. Its a decent cd, but no where near the top of the list.

I'm a casual fan of hers, but a big fan of Christmas music. Every year I pick up a couple of new seasonal CDs. Looks like this is an early contender for a purchase.

Sarah McLachlan has recorded the Lennon classic ‘Happy Xmas (War Is Over) for her forthcoming holiday album Wintersong.
Just as John and Yoko had the Harlem Community Choir perform o*n the original, Sarah has used a choir from her hometown o*n Vancouver.
"As a kid," she says, "music saved my life; having that o*ne thing that I knew I was good at made all the difference. It feels so good to be able to see their lives impacted. There's hardly any joy comparable."
Sarah founded The Sarah McLachlan Music Outreach program in 2003 to provide free music education for school students.
Other songs on the album include a cover of Joni Mitchell’s ‘River’ but the Christmas classics ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’, ‘Silent Night’, and ‘The First Noel/Mary Mary’.
Guests on the record include Diana Krall and Jim Creegan from Barenaked Ladies.
Wintersong will be released on October 8th.
WINTERSONG Track listing:
1. Happy Xmas (War is Over)
2. What Child Is This (Greensleeves)
3. River
4. Wintersong
5. I'll Be Home For Christmas
6. O Little Town of Bethlehem
7. The First Noel/ Mary Mary
8. Silent Night
9. Song For A Winter's Night
10. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
11. In A Bleak Mid Winter
12. Christmas Time Is Here

So i guess the new joke will be..."oh, sarah's coming out with a new album? Which is it? Live, remixed or holiday?"

I'd have rather had a new studio album.
But, I will probably pick it up for two reasons.
1) It's Sarah. She could put out a remix album of her singing the U.S.A national anthem and I'd probably buy it.
2) I still need some tracks for a Christmas cd to give to family to play at the yearly gathering. I hate the typical stuff they pick and listen too. All the traditional songs that are so very old. Or the really stupid stuff like "Grandma got run over by a reindeer", etc.

Listening to it now. We even get a new mix of Song For A Winter's Night.
Just soo soo sweet. Got to love her voice.
And Rogue...here's something we didn't think of. There are clips of Sarah covering songs and no one knows where they're coming from. I'm thinking that we'll get a cover album next. Then the Cover album live. Then it remixed.
Then maybe a new original album.

While I generally don't like christmas music, this type of music isn't terrible. And it fits in with the cd I'm hoping to make this year.
I didn't listen to the whole thing yet. I have always liked Song for a Winters Night, and this version is no exception.
I did enjoy her version of Happy Christmas.
The duet wit Diana Krall, Christmas Time is Here, was enjoyable as well.

You forgot the "complete" cover album live.
