And w/the AC/DC reissues if you don't get the cardboard case you're essentially not get the inserts.

And yeah, I'm also drowning in new CDs. With the nice weather a lot of my local stores have started their spring sidewalk blowout sales. I think I picked up over 50 CDs this week alone.

Okay. I'm just starting to finally look at the site. I saw you have 1000 plus cds and they only show 12 at a time. Is there a way to see more than that? It'll take a long time to go through them that way.

Also how do I see your want list? I own see what you have to trade. I could have sworn when I first clicked on it there was a choice but now I don't see it. Maybe I'm losing it.

^ you can sort by genre which narrows it down some. There should be an easier way to browse though.

Yeah, I don't think you can do it. The site model is essentially:

A --> B --> C --> D --> ...

rather than:

A <--> B, C <--> D, ...

By the way, what is your user name?

So far, I'm really happy with the service.

I joined last week. Within an hour of joining and adding a few cds to my have list and some to my want list, I was shipped a cd.

In this week, I've added 42 cds to my have list and about 20 to my want list. I've confirmed shipping out 5 cds, and have requested more shipping supplies. I've also been sent 4 additional cds.
So, in a week, I've added 42 cds to my have list, added 20 to my want list, shipped out 5 cds, and have been mailed 5 cds. Pretty nice turn around.

I just recently joined, and have already sent out 3 CD's I've wanted to get rid of. Other than the uncertainty of getting liner notes and tray art, I like this service.

BTW, my DVDTalk user name is the same as my lala.com name.

Thank you for posting about this site. I went there and it let me sign up I didn't have an invitation so not sure about all that. I love music and buy cds all the time. I had my cousin living with me a few years ago when she left she didn't take some cds. They aren't my taste so now hopefully someone will want them. I have the same name there as I do here as well

Heh...same here. I'm under "David"...it's nice to be the first one to register it, for once.

So far, so good. I've sent five, received one, and will be receiving five more. Most of the shippers have indicated that inserts are included, which is a big plus in my book. I have full artwork for everything I own, which I will always send, so I'm just slapping a 24 cent stamp on every envelope before it goes out.

Unfortunately, I sent all five discs within the past two days, so I'm out of envelopes, and can't send any more discs until the ones that people have sent me start arriving.

They say they've added Safari support for the Mac, but several things under Safari 1.3.x are still refusing to load. I guess it's OS 10.4/Safari 2.x support?

I hear ya about waiting for evelopes. I sent out five pronto and can't send anymore until new ones show up. AND I WANT THEM NOW!! I'm going to become addicted to this site.

Well a mild update. I decided to browse and add some more mainstream stuff to my list, along with a few my wife has been wanting and things are going great. I already receiving 9 in two weeks time, and shipped 10. I even shipped back out the first one I received(new artist, didn't like it).

On CDs with thick linear notes I put the CD in a paper sleeve instead of the plastic case to balance out the shipping. Took them to the post office and it worked like a charm. Hopefully they won't break. I didn't think to at first, but the last one I sent out, I wrote "do not bend" on it. If that works out, I'm going to keep doing that on any that are of questionable weight.

*edit - dropped 5 in the mail about an hour ago and already received confirmation for two more I am receiving within the last 15 minutes. This is awesome! Thanks OP & whomever posted the USAToday link.

Several people have reported breakage of CDs sent without the plastic cases. I'd really discourage this practice. It puts the recipient in a shitty situation if the CD breaks. Please, everyone, just eat the $0.24 postage and send the plastic case and liner notes.

Lots of people seem to be doing it and only some have reported breakage, so hopefully your 3 will be fine. I just want to make people aware of reported problems to guide future behavior. Good luck!

Thanks. I just figured with the thick booklets they would be good. One of them was a two disc set as well which is even thicker.

I wish some people would acknowledge receipt faster.

I've received 5 cds in the 3 day span that I sent out 5 and was notified that 5 were on the way. I marked the ones I received as such on my end, but so far the ones that I sent out those people haven't done so yet. I can't imagine that shipping is that slow. They were sent out on Thursday or Friday. And they were going to states like Illinois, New Jersey, Ohio, Wisconsin. Close states to Michigan.

So, I'm in a holding pattern until those 5 people mark them as received.

Other then that, the service is great. Got rid of some cds I didn't quite care for and received some ones I have been looking for.
