Coming hot on the heels of their platinum-certified 2CD hits package "ROCK OF AGES", Def Leppard have announced that they will release their 12th studio album "YEAH!" on May 23, 2006. On their highly anticipated new album, Def Leppard have created a heartfelt and hard rocking tribute to their musical heroes of the late 60's and 70's -the Kinks, Badfinger, T. Rex, David Bowie, Sweet, Roxy Music, Mott the Hoople, Free, Faces, and Thin Lizzy. Recording essential versions of the music that influenced their youth, the band have brilliantly merged the "Now" with the "Then" to create a buzz that can only be summed up in one word: YEAH!

Said Joe Elliott, "I thought it was about time we showed the world what our true roots were... British pop rock from the early to mid 70's. The songs on this album are at least partly responsible for us making the kind of music that we do."

Added Phil Collen, "We didn't want to make the standard covers album and gave this a lot of deep thought as Joe has been going on about doing this sort of project for 26 years. We wanted to express ourselves through these songs and approached the recording process as if they were our own."

The final tracklisting for "YEAH!" is as follows (running order TBA):
(Song)
10538 Overture
20th Century Boy
Don't Believe A Word
Drive-In Saturday

Def Leppard was the first concert I attended, way back in 1990. I'll catch them again on the 4th of July this year. Should be plenty of fireworks at the show.

I thought there was supposed to be a cover of Queen's "Dear Friends" on the "Yeah" album?

Where was that information found? I'm looking at the borgota's website, and I dont' see the July 1st date listed for Def Leopard. I see it listed on pollstar, but no sale date or time for tickets. I'm hoping to pick up tickets for this and make it up there finally.

I haven't seen these guys since the Hysteria days. I can't wait!

Guess Borgota is jacked up cause of it being at the Borgota. I would have to go Lawn, cause I can't see paying 85 even. I was thinking like 65.

Steve Augeri is on lead vocals now. He does sound a little like Steve Perry.

I love Def Leppard, but I think the prices are just out of line for this tour. Especially since Journey is minus Steve Perry. I saw them last year with Cheap Trick for a fair amount less than that. The did a couple of the covers in concert and they weren't bad, but not good enough to buy the new CD. I guess they are cashing in while they can.

They also recorded these but they didn't make the CD:
How Does It Feel (original by Slade)
Kick Out The Jams (original by MC5)
Roxanne (original by The Police)
When I'm Dead And Gone (original by McGuinness Flint)
Winter Song (original by Lindisfarne)

DEF LEPPARD will be taking part in an outdoor performance on "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on May 23.

I caught them during the "Vault" tour in Raleigh, NC. It was about as perfect as musical craftmanship can get. Granted, they had been playing the songs for 20 years, but it a flawless performance.

That's my plan!!! $9.98 + $5.88 is not bad deal!
I'm hoping for these 2 on Target disc: How Does It Feel & Roxanne

Bonus Track information

The Target bonus tracks are:
Action (original by Sweet)
When I'm Dead and Gone (original by Fury in the Slaughterhouse)

The Best Buy bonus tracks are:
No Matter What [alternate version?] (original by Badfinger)
Winter Song (original by Lindisfarne)

I also found a very much expanded version at Tower Records online with the following track list.

EDIT!

I finally heard from Tower Records. They said the information was from a "Pre-release" statement and updated information would appear on their site over the weekend if it was inaccurate. MONDAY the update is in place.

NO BONUS TRACKS AT TOWER! If you pre-ordered this you might want to cancel and consider Target or Best Buy to get bonus tracks.
