Any love for David Usher?
 

I haven't seen any threads about him - so where's the love for David Usher? I would say 'Little Song's is one my favorite albums ever. His newest 'If God Had Curves' is also extremely impressive - so where's the love?

Honestly I haven't heard much of his solo stuff...i remember that tune "Black Black Heart" a few years back which was pretty good, but his material derived from previous band Moist is what I'm most familiar with: "Push", "Silver", "Leave it Alone" were all big tunes here in Canada. Always thought he was underrated and am curious if Usher/Moist had similar success south of the border?

David Usher is amazing solo - check out his 'Little Songs' cd or for one specfic song , St.Lawerence River... I liked Moist, but Usher realized his true potenial solo.

I'd have to disagree. I think David's solo stuff is alright. In his 4 solo albums, I'd say he's actually got about 2 albums worth of good material, 50%filler. Whereas Moist's 3 albums are good front to back. Maybe I'm still just bitter that he's gone down the solo road instead of continuing with Moist, one of my favourite bands from back in the day...

speaking of candian bands..I see that Jeff Martin from the Tea Party, cause it kinda looks like the Tea Party is dead for good, he is releasing a solo record in Canada April 11th called Exile and the Kingdom, anyone hear any of this yet?

oh yeah and I like moist better than usher's solo stuff, though I haven't heard of all usher's solo material.

Mornin' Glory and If God Had Curves was decent, but Little Songs and Hallucinations kicks total ass...

I disagree about Moist, I thought their last offering 'Mercedes Five and Dime' was abit ...to pop.

LOL, I, too, thought this was about Usher (the rapper) as opposed to this singing Usher fellow... I was ready to give an "Awww HELLLL NO!" to the OP's question, but I've never heard of David (or Moist). But if he sings, he MUST be MILES better than that other Usher (who probably got his name from the best job he ever could've gotten had he not "spoken trash over stolen and insipid music".)....

lol yes it's an old thread but hey saw it was for showing the love for David Usher and had to post :) I love his music, he is truely a poet in his writing. No matter how ofter I listen to one of his songs I pick up something new ever time! Been a fan since his Moist days and is for me one of the very few artists that I can put on the cd and just let it play all day.

i have his first 2 albums. after that it started to sound like rehash.
