I've only bought two 2006 releases so far, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones is easily the winner of the two.

Technically it's a promo mix album from Soulwax: "This is Radio Soulwax" they did for Mixmag magazine.

I like this album too, even though I think the debut album is solid. I hope this gets a stateside release with tour dates. I thought 'Lost in a Melody' would have been on this release - what a great song.

All the stuff I'm listening to right now is stuff from 2005. Nothing from 2006 has caught my eye yet, although I've liked a lot of it.

Wow, I don't know 3/4 of the bands listed here so far. I feel old. I do want to check out the new Rob Zombie, that's the only one I'm really anticipating so far this year (and, knowing my luck recently, will suck).

So far it's:

Van Hunt - On The Jungle Floor

Artists like this make me want to have faith in modern R&B again. Fans of D'Angelo, Prince and even Lenny Kravitz would really enjoy this one, it's a great fusion of rock and soul.

Capricorns - Ruder Forms Survive, but it's technically a 2005 disc that got released in the US this year. If not that, then Belong - October Language is my current pick.

alanstar- The Magic Numbers album actually came out summer 2005.

Really good year for music so far, but I'm gonna go with Jenny Lewis's Rabbit Fur Coat.

The new Rhett Miller album and the new Sounds album. Those are getting some airplay in my car stereo. Mostly the new Rhett Miller (ex-Old 97s) one, though.

I'm going to purchase the new Ben Harper Deluxe Edition tomorrow, assuming (and hoping) that it's still on sale at Target for a couple bucks more than the regular edition.
