Recommend a good site to import CDs, reasonably priced of course.

Just what the title says, even though it sounds like an oxymoron.

I've gone through my bookmark list of music artists to catch up on them all and see what new stuff is available, and after checking most of them, all have special releases overseas with bonus discs/tracks/dvds and whatnot.

I know this is nothing new as a whole, but for the prog genre it is relatively new as most releases were the same worldwide.

I just pre-ordered O.S.I.'s - "Free" at amazon UK for $25 which seems high for just a few extra tracks.

Also noticed an exlclusive European release, cd/dvd combo of Nightwish's final release/performance with Tarja. There are other artists as well.

Is there anything out there better than amazon.co.uk?
Where do you get your imports?

I listen to mostly prog/power metal and I usually get my imports from The End Records.

InsideOut US also just opened up thier own web shop.

For Japan releases I usually order from www.cdjapan.co.jp. They give you points for each order which you can put towards future orders in increments of 100. They also send out a 500 yen coupon every couple months. Gemm.com also has sellers who specialize in imports.

Hey Michael, Ear X-Tacy is running a 20% off all imports in-store this week. You may want go if there's some already released stuff in your list.

Good looking out DGibFen. I always forget about that place. Sad I know. Most of what I've been looking at were pre-orders though, I'll have to see if there's something on my list that is already out.

Thanks to all the great suggestions, I'll be bookmarking them all.

I've also picked some up from CDWOW but they don't have a huge selection. I also get them via eBay.

as to CDWow - they've been really screwing up the last past orders I have placed - in both instances two copies of the same album have been shipped to me - I still have yet to see if they charged my Credit Card twice as well.

Try Overstock.com
I was looking for Chantal Chamandy's Love Needs You albumn/CD [Import] and got it off of overstock.com. They sometimes offer some nice prices on Import CDs/dvds but it's pretty much luck if they have something you want. Amazon.com is good too but the prices are a bit high sometimes. I usually browse through Tower Records Import/clearnace section to get a good deal on some stuff.

Bump. Any updates to valid sites? I've run into some albums I'd like to pick up, but they have bonus tracks outside the US.

Sometimes Amazon has them, sometimes not.

Google showed importcds.com and discogs.com, but I haven't used either.
